As has been said, you aren't after anything special realistically a wordpress theme and someone competent could put it together quickly. Generally if content was ready and the theme didn't need customising too much a freelancer would charge anything from £300-800 depending how much they wanted the job and country of origin!

I do a fair bit of work for a Scottish company, they basically re-sell on my work but they get the work in so I'm happy charging £300 for the basic websites as it tops up my play fund!

Have a look on people per hour or ask around for freelancers, plenty about
Hi Strain,

Had a few offers around the 500 EUR mark, so it does seem like a fair price.

I just despise the feeling of not knowing even the basics of how it works. Makes me susceptible to being taken to the cleaners.

My aunt paid £125.00 to have an IT guy from a company 2 miles away to install her Skype account. furious

Too cheap, best pay once and get a decent site for years to come.

2 weeks is too short for anything decent. I would just focus on getting a really good landing page setup rather than a whole site.
Have to disagree. If he wants a simple brochure site per the examples he's providing and already has the copy and images/videos, a decent site is easily achievable within that time frame.

Assuming you’re tags are correctly set up -
Lose the mobile number get an IP redirect.
Add an Instagram feed to the site and load (with permission) customers cars on it.
Do a hints and tips for tint care on the site
Explain in depth the different films - write this yourself!
That’ll do for a start 👍

Use some like https://www.ttnc.co.uk/ for your VOIP redirect. It's cheap enough, and it's more professional showing a local landline number. Plus make that phone number more prominent on your site.

Looks great for that type of business!

And yes, I will look forward to that as the next challenge too. SEO, Google rankings... cry

If someone is lined up, poised to do the work and, crucially, doesn't have anything else to work on then sure it's possible - just a little unlikely and 2 days have already passed! Then again this is sounding more like a template change job so possibly not as big as I first thought.

He get 'a' site, not a decent one.

Hi everyone,

I have managed to arrange someone to do it for me. £250.00 so pretty chuffed with that.

I have received a few messages from people on here offering their advice or sometimes services. I want to thank everybody for the offers.

If people are interested, I will post the final website up when it's done. Then everyone can see the quality. smile

Edit - took 10 days inc design, if design didnt change much would be 6 days BUT show it to a few people and use elements of it with my blessing ;o)
HI DS,

Sorry, I missed this message! Thanks for asking.

I am getting all my text together now. It's really tough to keep it slick and minimalist when there is so much text!

I am going to PM you.

Just replied, it’s the design more than the build - we don’t do Wordpress anymore (unless it’s a gift from the money fairy) but I’ve sent you a few sites and what we charged to give you an idea.

You liked DSL's site, which he quoted as 6 to 10 days work. That's somewhere in the region of £2k - £5k at agency rates.

It's not impossible to get someone to go a good job for such a small amount, but it is very, very difficult. Find a good WP theme and develop your content to fit it - if you try to force fit content, on a close to zero budget, then it will look like a dog's dinner.

I'm not surprised you're chuffed - I have two developers working for me and if I charged them out at £250/day I'd be making a loss. If you can get something decent in your 2-3 week timeframe for £250 it would be quite a coup. Best of luck with it.

Sure, I am happy BUT we have to see the result first. Might look like a dog's dinner!!!

My guess is it’s running over or devs fled!

Some of the projects we’ve quoted on with a 2-3 month timeframe still haven’t been delivered 12 months on.
