Going to bath for the weekend, staying right next to the Crescent.

Recommendations for places to eat and drink would be great, any decent pubs?

Friday night dinner, Saturday drinks and dinner, Sunday roast possibly.

Middle of the road prices would be great, nothing super expensive/fancy.

I have searched and only found info from 5 years ago!

Visit Bath quite regularly and if in need of lunch the Clayton's Kitchen (https://www.claytonskitchen.com/) is my preferred venue.

Mon-Fri lunches are two courses for £20 which is real good VFM. The food is generally the same as the a la carte. Haven't eaten there recently in the evening but the food is excellent and the service very good.

This is one of my all time favourite places to eat, not just in Bath. Fantastic place.

Great Tapas at La Perla http://la-perla.co.uk/. Eaten here 4 or 5 times. Great location in the vaults, real sense of occasion, fantastic food and service. Will be visiting again when next in town

Recommend Bizarre Bath if it is running whilst you visit. Fun magic / story driven walking tour.

I live and work here so just my take;

Decent smart boozers close to the Crescent either the Marlborough Tavern or The Chequers, both serve quite acceptable food as well!

My favourite restaurant is Woods in Alfred Street, again really close for you. Keep trying others that come and go, this has been the same for 20+ years and never lets me down. Circus restaurant (by the Circus amazingly!) also well established and rightly popular. Henrys in Savill Row by Woods also a good spot.

Hudsons in Walcot Street highly rated by many for steak fans, always popular.

You wont go wrong with most independents in the City, don't waste your time with chains you don't need to!

Everything is within walking distance so park the car up and have fun!

Some great pubs there. I love the Old Green Tree.

Missed the best small 'locals' pub in Bath; Volunteer Rifleman's Arms.

Wow, how things change - that used to be the Hat & Feather didn't it? A very different place back in the day....

On my last visit I stumbled across a huge pub that is in the old Auction House - Hall & Woodhouse. A very impressive conversion over 3 or 4 floors, even has a roof terrace bar overlooking some of the old city. Does good food & Badger Ale (Old King St, off Queen Square, behind Jollys)

Just down road, down a narrow street (Queen St) is the Canary Gin bar, an atmospheric little place where we had a couple of Gin & Tonics served in tea pots.

And I grabbed a Schwartz burger when I was last there - still good for a late night snack!

Walk east to the Circus.
Stand right in the middle in the trees, there used to be a stone slab to mark it.

Clap your hands.
Best echo evah smile
