Statutory demand might speed things up

Bit of a dangerous option that, you could end up with it blowing up in your face & being held liable for costs. Not generally a good idea unless you have a bounced cheque or a judgement already in place.

FWIW, my goto bod for such matters is Peter at www.tridentrecovery.co.uk - they deal with stuff throughout UK although based in the NorthWest. they charge a percentage no win no fee.

Someone who's tried to take me for a ride has their CCJ go live in the public register in a couple of days so I'll be chatting to Peter soon about ratcheting up the enforcement on them. (I could enforce now but they're still arguing so thought it'd be nice for it to go into the public register so that even if satisfied, their public sector clients know what they're like when doing tender evaluations evil )

Do you have their bank details? if so, applying for a 3rd Party Debt Order might be nice - brings it to the attention of their bank who get mighty upset with the debtor...

Wow, £1,560 a year. Well. I just hope she gets her moneysworth. The problem as I see it is one of motivation - the accountants are already being paid whether they do anything extra or not, or whether they get the money or not (unless they're on a percentage). So I would expect 'nothing' to result, and anything else is a bonus. When I was trading I didn't carry passengers!
She thinks she does at the moment, but I'm always interested to hear if someone can do similar for less!! I suspect you're right about 'nothing' actually being the outcome. The accountants aren't taking a percentage and we're already paying a monthly fee to them... I would've handled this a bit differently too but like I say, I'm not actually part of her business. I think I need to step in and do the money side of things though.

I wonder actually if the accountants have done a statutory demand and this is why we have some for of agreement to pay £1k a month from January. I need to find out from her what's actually happened. She seems pretty vague too mad

Thanks for the advice. She doesn't have the bank details unfortunately, but I think I debt recovery agency might be the way forwards too. I'll bear your recommendation in mind and let her know!
