We used to have to give in receipts to cover what we claimed until it was pointed out that the company could not reclaim the VAT you get £0.45 a mile that’s it ask your accounts department to look at the rules

Just run it down, fill the tank and give them that receipt that covers more than you used. Clearly giving a receipt for £12 isn’t going to cover £30.

Not sure what the bother is?

...does your car insurance cover business use?

Someone said earlier the firm can get the VAT back on the fuel element, and I've heard that before. It's not something our firm does though, don't know why as they're usually keen to get everything back they can.
