I missed the "free money" Mk1 because we are not on the rates office paperwork.
Would it be worthwhile me adding the company to the rates office if they're going to do round 2.
I wasn't on the rating register (maintained by the VOA) when the grants were first announced. I got my grant today. You can read my posts in this thread to see how I did it.Would it be worthwhile me adding the company to the rates office if they're going to do round 2.
I think that if a property was in the process of being looked at/valued by the VO before 11/3/20 then thats OK
What we also do is look at failures by us to act on information received from the customer/landlord or misinformation given by us that would have led to a split/merger being done or property valued.
If due to 100% SBRR we have a new occupier who did not tell us they were there before the due daythen thats also no problem.

38 days in and no grant.
Article in yesterday’s paper saying GCC bottom of the table of scottish councils for getting grant money out.
“ Data released by the Scottish Government showed Glasgow received 12,840 applications and processed 3,217 of them up to April 28”
Scandalous and as usual nobody to hold to account.
Can I ask if you have heard anything as yet? We are GCC based aswell and have had to apply for the 25k grant.Article in yesterday’s paper saying GCC bottom of the table of scottish councils for getting grant money out.

Based on how we deal with this mismatch in vo description and actual usage you should be ok.
Just email them explaning what you do with links ti your website maybe a note from your accoyntant.
I eould also cc your councillor in and mention number of staff you employ
Let me know how you get on
Will do, thank you. Just email them explaning what you do with links ti your website maybe a note from your accoyntant.
I eould also cc your councillor in and mention number of staff you employ

But another v similar business, similar RV & exact same description on rates & breakdown of use gets £25k grant
So the appeal route I guess.

How would an application look if tenant can prove via a lease they were in the property from December 2019 but had not got round to applying for business rates and once rated they would be likely to be entitled to SBRR?. I have a friend who runs a dental surgery. I had assumed that he would be eligible for a coronavirus grant but he tells me that he isn’t.
Surely a dentist pays business rates, has been shut down due to Covid19 and therefore should be eligible for a £25,000 grant (if his rateable value falls between £15,000pa and £51,000pa)?
Or is it the case that this only applies strictly to retail and hospitality?

Anyone who currently gets small business rates relief with rates no more than £50500 (I think it’s £50500?) qualifies. Still no word here. Any news your end? I followed up my original email with a more in depth description of our operation. Did not even get an automatic reply.
Nope, still no grant money. I read in yesterday’s herald they are claiming to have paid 89% of the applications received. Of course we’re in the remaining %. jke11y said:

So our % of total paid vs total entitled is not as god as if we measure against total applied.
Average is 8 days.
Claims we got after 1st may its next day if the fill the form in correctly.
That last bit is very difficult for a lot of people.
Putting your mobile number in the field for bank account ref.
Getting your business name wrong
Entering wrong sort codes
When its all done i will share some anecdotes to make you smile
