Use Capcut for basic editing (web version on a desktop). Easier than arsing about with an app on your phone.
I use it daily for creating Shorts.
For high quality Long form videos (but with high quality comes an investment in time), try DaVinci Resolve. It's free but you can create 4K/UHD if you are patient enough to let your device render a video! It's TV/movie standard stuff, and the Photoshop equivalent to video editing (ie a pain in the arse to do anything) but once you have it figured out, you can do anything you want to do. This kind of thing is easy and quick to do once you understand layers, for instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLgKE3cVsF8 (that's my channel).
I’ll look at that over the holiday - I need to raise my game I use it daily for creating Shorts.

To get faster with production (I can output a 5 minute video in 30-45 minutes now, previously taking 3-4 hours), I worked out what I was repetitively doing eg using B-roll, background music etc and tried to create templates and precut stuff that could easily be dropped in or layered over to vary the B-roll.
If you have two monitors, then it will be slightly easier. I don't know why but it detected that I have two monitors and defaulted to using both. A bit presumptuous but useful! I suspect 3 monitors would be more useful still as you can refer to docs or run other software without having to alt-tab. Having just one monitor must be a right hassle for this kind of work.
