Starting an online business best practices?

Hi Guys,
I am setting up a wordpress site for a friend's consulting business (happy to share link over email with those interested).

I've been working on hard on implementing SEO best practices but am wondering, in a market that has enough competition, for an online business what are some best practices to get clients? My friend is working on adverts for external platforms.

So far I have done the following

- Creating lots of content and internal links
- Ensuring good keyword density
- Waiting for google my business verification and then I will publish blog posts automatically to social media
- Created an xml site map
- Looking into lead generation

If it plays nice with your site then RankMath is the best SEO plugin for WP. There's generally a lot of competition online for everything nowadays and links are still king. Focus on CTR - make sure your meta headline and description drag people in. SEO tends to be a long game, AdWords will give you the instant results.

Yup I use rankmath.

I have a few technical issues to sort on the site, and yes having backlinks goes very far so working on some strategies there!
