Ted, I work from my home in Maidenhead. My office has only 1 desk and unfortunately I am at it (on PH admittedly) most days; I can offer you use of a broadband enabled dining table if that helps at all (read wireless ) - Its just me here on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday's but Monday's and Thursday's might see the comings and goings of the rest of the Cloth Family so maybe not ideal.

Genuine offer if it helps you out (and all for the price of a beer at PF06), but you might want/need something more professional

S.

Thanks very much TC. Appreciate it.

Looks like I can get an office in Regus, Maidenhead for £750 for a month.

Blimey. I guessed it wouldn't be cheap but I didn't think it would be that much!

Still, should give you a pleasant working environment for the period you require it for and being fully managed you shouldn't have to worry about lease periods, maintenance, utility bills, etc.
(I'm presuming that's an all-in price including broadband and phones?)

Is that for a one person office?

Watch all the extra they really know how to charge for them. Std is £75 broadband per person pcm, £75 per telephone line and phone pcm and as you say they will try to charge for parking.

If they have a few offices available negotiate very hard-they will be very keen to get them filled and are open to offers. Don't accept their price if they have share capacity.

Also the service you receive varies very much from office to office. The centre manager is key to high levels of service. Makes a big difference.

Didn't think anything was inclusive with Regus I've used Maidenhead & Rickmansworth and the certainly know how to add the "add-ons" to the monthly bill! Good service though, especially the girls at Maidenhead.

For Christ's sake don't book a meeting room with Regus though. Rickmansworth is £35 per person per hour, apparantly!

I've used them for meeting rooms and they've been reasonable. Leatherhead, for a couple of hours for two people and coffee was about £34.

Thanks, but yes. Was hoping to get something local that I could pop into.

Oh, maybe I misunderstood in that case. A memo went round the office (when it was temporarily relocated to Regus Rickmansworth following the Buncefield explosion) that meeting rooms were not to be booked because they were £35/person/hour. But I concede that I may have misinterpreted or indeed the person who sent the memo may have got it wrong.

Ted you are not an IOD member are you, think they have a facility in Reading now. I was, but left last year due lack of use so have not seen it; might be an option if you are as they have free open plan work areas with free wifi if that might suffice or you can rent a private space but think they were still fairly well priced. Maybe Reading still too far away , will keep my ears open.

Actually, taking my laptop down to a coffee shop may prove to be the answer

I'll be living in Bourne End and we hope to move in about three weeks. I want to ensure I can keep things ticking over in that time so wanted to set something up before we move (i.e. in next 10 days) to have somewhere that I can go and do email/maintenance for a few weeks. Installing extra phone lines and broadband at the new house it bound to be a PITA so I wanted to try and smooth things over a bit.

In fact, that is the answer.

Just checked out wireless hotspots and there are loads around near us.

Ted - always welcome to pop round my house (Henley) and use my broadband if you're in a fix, or park up outside our Maidenhead office and connect to our visitor wireless network.

Sure what he hell..... Ted, my folks are away for 2 weeks next week. Get out of the house, let the missus run things (you'll be doing her a favour being out of her hair) and have a few proper pints while you're at it! Tempted???? Don't lie, you know you are .
