I'm going to go there and commit personally commit murder very soon....

Don't suppose there is anyone around who's a person with influence within C&G?

It might save a bit of blood on the marble floor!

If I have to repeat it all I'll probably die in the proces...

Want to do a transfer of equity to share property with my new husband, not an unusual transaction, most lenders do it on sight of the Transfer.

C&G, at odds with other lenders, want to do a whole new mortgage complete with title certification (so legal costs) even though the original morgage was only completed 18 months ago. (Churning IMO).

They are giving conflicting info and we've just gone full circle to the point I was at three weeks ago with them.

I'll have a chat with our contacts, see what I can find out about their general policy, and how it should work, I'll let you know.

Cheers, their policy seems to be that they won't accept a transfer of equity they will force a remortgage. This is completely at odds with other lenders and as such (IMO) should be made clear to customers upfront and if they insist on a remortgage it is not acceptable to want the title to be certified again when it was done 18 months ago.

Plus...their legal department have refused to talk to me direct as "they are not customer facing".

[aside] they've already wanted to re-value it because "it's in a converted mixed use building" - yes, funnily enough as it was 18 months ago - it's not moved rolleyes [/aside]

C&G will accept transfer of equity no problem. Are you trying to deal at branch or HQ level?

For a pedantic point you cannot "remortgage" with the same lender that you currently have. Even if you don't increase your borrowings it is legally termed a "further advance."
