Where to find experienced business consultant?

My company is growing really rapidly - almost freighteningly so. Although we've got pretty robust plans afoot, I wouldn't mind appointing a business consultant that has experience in growing a company successfully from, say, £15m to, say, £50m in about three or four years. Quite possibly an ex (maybe retired) MD of a company whose wisdom could be tapped into would be an ideal solution. I'd like to appoint someone who's "been there and done it" rather than someone who's too 'theoretical'. Any pointers would be helpful - I've already got feelers out in the obvious places.
