I've been interested in the success of 'handvertising' recently in other countries and have been briefly looking to this further.

Basically, I am just looking at the club goers and hand stamping an 'advert' as proof of admission to the club instead of the club logo etc which is normally used. Club owners / promoters getting a cut of the advertising fees.

I am pretty sure I can get the quantity to get some brands interested although I want a bit of advice as to how to go about getting the brands to go for it... Is their a company that could sort this out?

Just an idea...

I dont see it happening..

those people going in to a club are going there to drink and dance, both of which are detrimental to the longevity of the advert...

maybe if it was something with a short shelf-life.. ie a taxi for that nights trip home.. then it could work.. but I see it as being a very small window of branding..

but what do I know wink

All good points...

I think the hand stamps will still be there in the morning... Many a time I have woken up from clubbing and wondered what the logo was from (good way of working out where you have been)

So what does everyone think? Start off a a number of clubs in London, looking down the line could get introduced to something like the festivals or concerts / football games etc etc...

Now, where to start...

Oh taxi's are a good idea. And the smoking bits.

I don't want to be a killjoy as the concept is an interesting one. The problem is that the hand-stamps are bloody annoying and hate it when I cant wash them off the next day!

It is bad enough when such a thing has to happen for a reason which is in the interest of the clubgoer, however if it was used for independant advertising, this would certainly **** me off.

You can call me a fogie at 28, and indeed if I was 18 I might not care as much... however if people don't like their hands used for advertising, or indeed the club owner thinks that using their clientelle's hands at forced advertising space demeaning to them, I don't think they will let if affect their core business.

I think the way forward would be to find a USP or two which will find really good and constructive ideas which may still be acceptable. I understand smokers who now have to go outside have to have their hands stamped anyway, so having their hand stamped with something different like smoking patches is a fun idea! However, stamping every clubbers hand with 'Red Bull' or similar will just annoy people and the idea wont last long.

Pregnancy tester? biggrin

Why not have the stamps branded with the club logo? If it's a decent club, then they'd want the logo on their hand. Of course, if it's some cringe-worthy Essex night club with a tacky name like... oh, I dunno... Applez or Crystalz, then that might not work.

I see your point and think its one of the main problems... It would be have to be carefully thought about (size of stamp / type of brand / product etc) and also how often people were stamped.

To make money I need quantity and no-one is going to be interested in only 1000 people (or one venue) So I have contacts in the 'club promotors' side of things. Using these branded nights hosted by the promoters it should sort out them promlems of worring club owners as the promotors do what they like anyway and it would look bad on the 'event' not the club.
Also another main point is if I offered a club owner £100 per night in advertising revenue they are not going to bother (not enough £££ to make it worthwile IMO) although the smaller, money hungry club promoter type businesses that will be hosting numerous events on Thurs fri sat each week would be interested in the £100 per club per night (for example)

I think people will be pissed off with it after a while although if its things like a 10% off ASOS or something that people would use it may work out.

problems arise when it gets abused

I havent got time to 'action' the majority of ideas that I have - hence talking on a public forum (too many things on the go already! and most are crap!) although love trying to figue out how they may work...
