Anyone know where you can buy off the shelf companies that have a director already in place that you can "keep" rather than changing Directorship?

Are you looking for an "Off the Shelf Director" as weli smile

"Off the shelf companies" have a named director already in place as all companies are legally required to have at least one director. Obviously, that individual is keen to be taken off the registry as a director once the company is "sold" to the new owners. He/she wouldn't want to have any legal respnsibilities for a company, business and other directors he/she doesn't know anything about.

Why would a person unknown to you want to take that risk - unless, perhaps, you were prepared to pay a substantial sum to keep them on board.
The last thing an initial "nominated" director would normally want to do is stay on the records as a director once the company has been passed on.

I see you could do with some brushing up on the ideosyncracies of the simplicity of contract law!

For an extra ten grand (per annum of course) I can supply a registered office?

Isn't it rather unlikely that a director who is (presumably) in business helping people launch new businesses, would also have the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to make your new company succeed? Unless you're trying to set up a company to help people launch new businesses, in which case he might have lots of relevant knowledge and knowledge but maybe lacking a bit of motivation.

I have plently of motivation, 50,000 reasons worth! Maybe 60,000 if our next deal goes through.

In my experience company formation agents do not offer this as an option, for the reasons mentioned above. There are businesses out there who will supply you with "directors" in the form of "business angels" i.e they will supply individuals who can use their expertise and experience to assist a business - for a fee, of course.

I have to ask, why do you want to be a limited company with a "built in" director? A company only needs one director to be properly constituted and that director could be you. Unless, of course, there is some reason why you do not want your name on the official company documentation.
If that is the case, you would, in effect, be a "shadow" director and that fact MUST be revealed in the company's annual accounts anyway.

Thats cool, this is what Pistonheeads is for, meeting new contacts like this!

Did you want me to sort the registered office too?

Also, what type of business will you be doing? I am pretty good at most things but I don't want to do anything illegal.

Am really really curious as to why you want someone else as a director?

Would you remain the shareholder?

Is it a situation where you can't be the director of another company, but you can realise income from somewhere, but your 'boss' can't find out?

Come on.......spill the beans

Well if there's something worthwhile in it for me, I'll set the company up for £50, with me as a Director and you as the shareholder.

deal or no deal?

biggrin

So no deal sorry..
