Order fulfillment houses

I can get my hands on some storage space and idle hands in Luton and Staples Corner and am trying of thinking of the easiest way to put it to use.

At the moment I'm thinking of offering order fulfillment services.

Anyone use them? What do you look for and what kind of prices do you pay?

I had a look around for one for a smallish company (www.sieben-technology.com) the problem I found was they charged a minimum time for packing an order so it did not turn out to be cost effective. I think it was half an hour, which was fine if you had multiple orders (as many as they could pack in half an hour) but very expensive if you only had one. So in summary not a good option unless you had decent volumes of product going (which I don't yet), could be a potential niche.

Storage charge was something like £3 per pallet per week + VAT
