Life Assurance Companies

I need to get some Life Assurance cover in the event of something awaful happening. But I have an inate distrust of all types of financial salesmen and believe that the providers would do anything to wriggle out of a pay-out in the event of my death anyway.

Is anyone here able to reccomend a company to go with or a very trustworthy and honest broker to speak to?
