What is wrong with companies? You place an order for a plasma screen on Friday, on the understanding it will be delivered to your customer the following Monday. But they don’t ‘process’ the order until Monday and it doesn’t ship until Tuesday. When it eventually turns up, it turns up HERE and not at the client’s address, which is 100 miles away... one numpty not doing his job properly and I look like a tit and have to apologise to the customer, who’s sitting there waiting for it.
So I’m currently sitting here waiting for a courier (mine) to collect it and take it to where it should be, and the price is jolly well coming off the supplier’s bill.
In the meantime, a bandsaw blade I ordered arrives in the post. But it’s the wrong one. I call them up. When they start flapping about who said what to whom, I told them it was needed for an urgent job for a polar explorer who’s leaving for the Arctic on Saturday. ‘We’ll put the right one in the post today Sir’.
Must use that story more often!
