and Ping Test

Still not sure what the Ping Test tells me, when compared to the slow broadband speed? Any ideas?

Download is decent but the Upload is a bit crap. The Ping is usually around 12-15.

Apologies in advance for the long post.

Sky "unlimited" broadband -

From my router stats page -
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3070 kbps 530 kbps
Line Attenuation 53.5 db 34.6 db
Noise Margin 5.0 db 10.5 db

and when I log into my sky account it says:

You have Sky Broadband Unlimited which offers a maximum download speed of up to 20Mb.

When you purchased Sky Broadband, we estimated that the Access Line Speed for your line was up to 4Mbps.

The actual Access Line Speed could be lower than this estimated speed range.

We constantly monitor your line to make sure it has been set to support the fastest speed possible whilst maintaining a stable connection.

Line connection testing completed on 11/09/2009, resulting in the following settings:

Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 2.0Mbps .

Upload speed setting
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 0.8Mbps .

I am around 1.3 miles away from the local exchange. Is it worth ringing them up to do another line connection test considering how long ago the last one was done? Tied in to another 9 months with them for the broadband. It never really bothered me but after using my mates 50mb line I am tired of how slow my connection is.

I'm usually in the Unit 4 car park but go to the Unit 3 one if I can't get a space. Where are you usually?
I'm a contractor, but will normally work in building 2 either in Studio 7 or in and around the Creative dept.
OK, I'm currently up on the Sky Studios 4th floor in Platform Control.
Holy thread bump Batman!

I thought I'd spoken to you on here, I've parked behind you today, so be careful when you pull out! I'm in the Golf Edition 30 smile

Memory? I would have thought that should read 'Disc/k space'?

Well it appears that our local exchange has had an upgrade. LLU? So from today we have:

Better than the 0.7 or 1.02 that we were getting.

Although I still feel as if the whole county is being throttled back.

Upload speed is also a right pain if you are trying to update a website with lots of photos.
