How did you do the update – over the air or via iTunes on the computer?
If the latter, then simply sync the phone, ensuring the playlists are ticked in iTunes – that’ll put them back on, and the songs, assuming they’ve actually disappeared also.
I did the update over the air via WiFi. Luckily found the music backed up on the pc. I really thought the music would also have been stored in ICloud, apparently not.How did you do the update – over the air or via iTunes on the computer?

So I installed IOS 11 on my IPhone 6 yesterday. Now I see that all of my music playlists have gone. The songs I bought from iTunes are there but the stuff I burned and all the playlists have gone.
Help!!!!
Turn on music in the cloud in Settings and wait a few minutes when opening the app. This is fairly standard practice for the OTA updates - they seem to sacrifice some user customisation in the settings. Help!!!!

Currently using a MacBook Air, and purchased a MacBook Pro so I can pass on my Air to a member of staff.
I don't have an external drive to carry out a Time Machine back up to, is there an alternative?
Also, how do I clear the Air for a new user?
Thanks in advance.

The same can be done to find the simplest way to return the Air to as new from Apple's Support KB or other websites.
It's going to take you a fair while, but that's par for the course.

Begrudgingly, I'm trying out iOS with my main SIM and it doesn't seem too bad so far. I have a 6 with the 11.1.1 update but battery life doesn't seem to be any good. Is this to be expected with an older phone or will it get better over time?
Any hints or tips or even information on why this is?
