Cool.

It's a great size and does seem bright as f...

I'll try and get some comparison shots if I get chance. Dogs are away so not been venturing out.

Phone was dead so no pictures but the 90 head was a great suggestion.

Works perfectly clipped to my jacket top pocket and it's floody not throwy. Although I'm not sure I can put it on turbo clipped there as I may become the torch.

I knew I shouldn't have ventured into this area as I've now just ordered a new charger and pre ordered a thrower frown

What's the latest not mental priced good protected 18650 advice? I've spent too much already will need 4

I've had no issues with Panny NCR18650B's but given the post a page or two back I'm not so sure what to recommend. I've got limited need for protected cells so I've only got Panasonic's and LG protected cells as a point of reference.

Yeah that's what I've been using

Took a punt on these though I've just realised they could be anything under there. Description sound like they know what they are on about I've also just bought a nice bridge in London

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-PluzPower-18650-3400...

One question has led to spending around £200

Ffs

Also last year I'm pretty sure I bought a tk75 and I can't find it. Another small dissapointment the new olight doesn't share the same charger as my olight s10r and s15r I found it handy leaving one on there and swapping it out every few days

Just saw the Panasonic cell posts. That's why I bought a new charger when fully loaded it takes too long to charge and I don't like leaving them on charge when I'm alseep or not around.
New charger has 3a to each cell or something like that and doesn't drop like the nitecore one I've got now.

He also sells on eBay, seller big_f_d_d. Prices look identical and I've always had great service from him.

Being as I don't need to

a) Signal to aircraft
b) Dazzle cars
c) Turn night into day

No modes, fits in pocket, simple sturdy on/off, can't turn on accidentally, eyes stay adjusted for darkness, uses ordinary batteries. I ordered a couple of these.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable-Zoomable-Flash...

Perfectly adequate for an unlit path and walk to the pub.

Where exactly does 'need,' fit into the equation? That's just a word we use to justify things - we all know, 'want,' is the dominant factor when it comes to man toys.

And I 'want' as much VFM as I can get - in this context that means more output, longer runtimes, better beam patterns, controls, durability. Or I'd rather pay less money.
Case in point - the £7.50 torch posted above. Whilst it's not the same as an SK68, I'd be surprised if the performance wasn't near enough identical. I've got a load of them - they cost me £1.50 each.

I've got a BLF Q8 on the way, wish I'd not bothered with Banggood if you can get them on eBay in 7 days for a couple of quid more!
I'm loving this Q8, so many different modes and I've walked the dogs every night for 30 mins (on a middle setting) and it's still on the original set of batteries.

4 quick button presses locks/unlocks it, it stops my kids from messing about with it and blinding each other or leaving it on when they've finished messing about with it.
It's arrived. Batteries haven't yet, and I've only got one button top 18650.

Feels like a solid bit of kit though, certainly got some heft to it.

Thanks for this. Spare charger has been ordered.
Ordered on the 26th Oct, arrived today - now I have a 2 cell charger (previously ordered) and a 1 cell 'spare'. Just need my batteries to arrive now!

Yeah I would have said that. You get a simple led torch range around 200 meters

Use it constantly but I need to scan for dogs and the other side of the field is 400 meters so you buy a 400 meter range .....
I've just ordered a 1400 meter one but also seems new leds are out and EDC torches now tiny beat all my previous huge one so obviously they need replaceing.

It's a sickness

I bought identical ones from China a couple of years ago for sub £2 - they're adequate around the house but not for scanning a large area.

A while ago I bought a Uniquefire UF 1405 which I was very happy with for circa £15

My Dad wants me to buy him 4 but they appear to be no longer available - can anyone suggest something similar ?

It was a dual 26650 / 18650 with a large head - the Convoy S2+ is highly rated but what's the next step up ?

On the zoomie front, the light that springs to mind is the Brinyte B158 although it's only a single 18650 light, if capacity is important:
https://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_390897...

Next step up (Convoy wise) from the S2+ would be the C8 in terms of throw (less floody mind) or switching to 26650 the L2. But if you're looking at a dual 26650 light the L6 is just brilliant. It's often on sale with a code for about £40.
