I have just upgraded to a Nokia Lumia 800, which is fantastic by the way. I want to unlock my X6 from Orange as I have an O2 sim I want to use in it. There seems to be loads of sites offering codes at vastly different prices. Can anyone recommend a reliable site that will provide the correct codes at a reasonable price, please?

You don't need to pay for it, I think there's a program called NSS and using that & PC Suite you can debrand the phone from Orange to a non-branded X6 and the relevant product code available

I looked for ages at various sites a few months ago when I upgraded mine but couldn't find any that I wanted to put my card details in. In the end £20 & 5 mins waiting with a shifty looking chap & his laptop on a mobile phone kiosk in my local shopping centre worked for me.

Let be clear I haven't done it, but when I wanted to update the software on my X6 this what was suggested as Vodafone no longer supported nokia update releases after about 6 mths after launch. It was suggested here.

No you need the generic UK version for your phone which if it is the same as mine (16gb white) would be:

0595682: RM-559 CTR 16GB EURO1 WHITE_WHITE UK

This is the product code, I believe it will reset your phone to a default unbranded UK Nokia X6 and allow you to upgrade the software directly with Nokia rather than via Orange, based on that I also believe this means you can use any sim in it, the down side being doing this may invalidate your warranty.
