I don't know... iMessage is pretty good! Or was that iOS4?

I found it utter ste. Unreliable and inconsistent.

Also totally pointless for me - I never get even close to using my text limits each month.

Really? I suppose I must be the only one. I have unlimited texts, but I have friends in Amsterdam who I can then just 'text'. I can also MMS most of my phonebook for free, as most of them have iPhones.

WhatsApp looks naff compared to iMessage.

iMessage is the biggest reason I'm apprehensive of switching to Android!

Who cares how it looks? It's just better, plain and simple.

I've lost count of the number of times iMessage has told me it's delivered a message when it hasn't. I've sat there with two iPhones, sending messages to each other, none of which were received at the other end, but with both senders happily confirming receipt on the target device. WhatsApp has worked every time for me.

Hmm, I've had that once or twice, and I use it a lot. I guess each person's experience differs.

I take it most people use WhatsApp then? I'll get it for Android.

I like iMessage, it is great that I can send texts, pictures etc.. to people around the world.

However, I agree with the inconsistent part. Hopefully when they tidy it up for the latest OSX they will also get more functionality into the iOS version (such as being able to associate a telephone number with your Apple ID so you can continue a conversation on the iPad from your iPhone).

it's true, it is pretty big but it's like an optical illusion. First time I saw it I laughed at how ridiculous it was to think someone would use it as a phone. After using it for a few hours it suddenly didn't look big anymore. A few days after playing with my mates one I looked at one in a phone shop and it didn't seem big at all. It's what your used to I suppose.

My iPhone now seems almost unusably small and I'm counting the days until I can get a Note.

Take a look here at a guy after a month with a Note - you will see what I mean. It's very common if you read up on them.

Me and another guy in the office spent a week ripping the p155 out of a colleague who bought a Note. The week after that, we both bought Notes smile

HELLO!

I'M ON THE MOBILE! WHAT? NO, NEW GALAXY NOTE. NO, IT'S RUBBISH. I LOOK LIKE I'M ANSWERING A RESTAURANT MENU. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, NOKIA N-GAGE? OK, CIAO.

It's nothing like an N-Gage. For a start, it's not as good for games as an N-Gage...still use mine regularly.

No, they won't. Your particular brand of unfunny hyperbole wears thin.

I'm looking forward to iOS 6 on my iPad, though.

I'm due for an upgrade / renewal in early July.

Running an HTC Desire, and while I can't fault it, I'd like an iPhone as it would sync much better with my MacBook.

Question is, do I go for a 4S or do I wait? If the actual phone is bigger, then I'm probably not going to want a iPhone 5, as the size of the Desire / 4S is as big as I want to with a phone.

So there will be no iphone 5 this year? Is that from the WWDC?

WWDC was about iOS6 and OS X.8 (Mountain Lion), with a boost to the notebook line-up, with the reveal of the next gen MBP encasing a retina display.
Whether the leaked photos made Apple sit on announcing/confirming the iPhone 5 or they're just not ready on an engineering level, is open to conjecture - but I would be extremely surprised there's not a special event held in Sept/Oct to show it off and announce its availability timeframe.

If Apple let the i5 go past 24 months after the original i4 then more fool them.

The 12 month warranty is bad enough, if they expect people to respect brand loyalty out of contract beggars belief.

Just spotted this....

http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/iphone-5-spotte...

Thoughts, please?

I personally can't see Apple making it so obvious but you never know.
Although not everyone would've noticed this, they'll have known someone will have...
