I spoke to Apple yesterday as I missed the boat on my handset order and am still waiting.

I have 30 pin adapters in my order and have been told delivery between 19th and 25th of October.

My 5's battery life is complete ste.
I've downloaded battery doctor, which is also ste.
It says to save x amount of battery turn off bluetooth, bluetooth is turned off already.
I took it off charge at 8am yesterday, i read about 5 emails through-out the day & used Facebook on my lunchbreak (30mins) (but not for all 30mins of it).
I also made a 30min phone conversation.
The phone was dead by 7pm.

My IP4's battery wasn't great come the end of it's life but it was a darn sight better than that.
That sounds properly fked, I'd take it back!
Had a play with one a full morning and battery life was at about 50% after a morning of heavy use, so it should be better than what you described.

I'm about to pre-order for my 5 Black.

Help with colour choice?

I've had both black and brown for my 5 so was thinking tan but is it a bit horrible? I can't work out if it's nice or ste.

Probably go for brown if not tan.

Maybe tan would end up grubby?
Looks a lovely case that, thanks for posting, Just what I've been looking for. I was going to get the Sena Ultraslim, this looks much nicer though.
With regards to the tan, I think it looks great.

I used to use Tuff-Luv cases. The saddleback leather ones. They do a range of cases. Some look nice, some look gash.

I fondled one for the first time yesterday - the nicest phone I've ever "felt" in terms of weight and design.

I may now upgrade.

My 'charge either way around cable' only charges 1 way, looks like its been fried on one side. A bit worrying

My battery life is fine, for the first time in iPhone ownership I'm getting to the end of the day with 50% or more battery and that's after a couple of hours of calls, some emails and an hour or two of music.

I dropped my 5 this morning and it did a comedy roll. So, now I have gouged phone that has sharp edges. Why the hell did they make it so slippery?

Battery life is good but I tend to run the screen brightness very low though. I'd say it is the same as my 4.

IME the biggest thing that affects battery life on an iphone is the signal, and unfortunately that is different everyday, even if you do the same journey to work.
With my 4S I could get in the car to drive to work, get out an hour later and some days my phone would still be at 100%, other days it would be down to 90%. In each case the phone hadn't even been woken up from sleep, just grabbed off charge and put in my pocket.

Took my phone off charge yesterday morning at 8am.

Brightness set at a 3rd and emails set to fetch every hour.

Currently got 25% battery left with 4 hours, 51 minutes usage and 1 day and 2 hours standby.

thinks that's pretty good to be honest.

Mobile Data is what is killing battery life, my ip4 on holiday went for days with no charge

Took my phone off charge at 8am and as of 10:20am I'm on 78%.

I'm having to carry my cable around in my pocket.

Just plugged it into my work computer and a little bubble popped up saying USB device not installed, the device has malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognise it.

What the utter shuddering fk!?

It charges fine off my MBP at home!
