I'm going to have to download it from here and stick it on with Odin as Kies won't do it.

UPdated mine through Keis last night. All good. Took a while though as I did a back up first. Be VERY patient if you are installing Keis for the first time on your PC, it takes ages.
Took a good 90mins to do mine via KEIS on the macbook which was the first time use for KEIS.Updated to Jelly Bean last night.
What a huge difference and all for the better. I was a little disappointed with my S3 as it didn't feel very snappy or smooth compared to my iPhone, but since updating last night it is like a completely different phone.
My apps seem a lot more responsive and everything has a nice seamless quality to it now.
Extremely happy now. This update actually restores my faith in the fact you can have a smooth OS without locking it up like Apple...

I am just about to go for an S3 upgrade over an iPhone 5 on T-mobile, but I'm concerned by these comments about it being laggy!
The main thing that annoys me about my current Sony Xperia Arc is that it feels sluggish.
There are other reasons for me choosing the S3 over the iPhone 5 such as widgets, better maps/nav and the lack of an App on the iphone to analyse wifi networks.
So, what's the NON-fanboy opinion of those who have used both.
Cheers.

If you are someone who gets bored easily, likes to constantly mess with your settings or use your phone for more other than calling, texting and standard internet surfing then the Samsung S3 is great. It is very adaptable and has potential far greater than the standard software setup.
If you just want a phone that does standard 'phone stuff' with some casual internet stuff then the iPhone is better. The software is smoother and it is a lot easier to use.
Personally, both phones are very good. Although I currently have an S3, I think when upgrade time is due next year I may go back to iPhone purely because I don't think I do anything on the Android that I can't do on an iPhone. I refer to myself there, the Android is capable of much more if used by the right person, just not me. So it isn't worth the bugginess in my eyes.
Still, if Jelly Bean is as good as it first appears, my S3 might not have any bugs anymore so my whole argument above is void....
ETA - keep an eye on the Jelly Bean feedback from people. I noticed your comment about it being laggy, I would have agreed yesterday but I thing the new update has sorted that and it feels as smooth as my iPhone 4S ever did.

I can definitely feel an increase in smoothness and speed with the JB update, however on first use of a few of the apps, there appears to be some stuttering, either they are not wholly compatible yet or the app needs to be run at least once to optimise it's use in the new environment. Also some of the auto and predefined settings need to be readjusted to my requirements after the update, once this was/is done seems to be a whole lot better.
You are not convincing me! I'm supposed to be getting my S3 tomos morning.
Is it fair to say that the S3 is leggy when you've got loads of widgets and other stuff going on? It seems the iPhone is smoother as it doesn't try to be over ambitious when it comes to multitasking.
Wish I could live with both for a week, but in all honesty the S3 seems so much more interesting and exciting when comparing them side by side. iOS looks and feels a bit out of date. Saying that, I'm typing this on my iPad 2 which I love!

Interested to see how you get on. I'm in the same boat, but rather than diving straight into an android phone, going to pick up a Nexus 7 next week. If I like that, then I'll probably go for a Note 2 or S3. The iPhone 5 bores me to pieces and can't see any real reason to change from the 4S.Is it fair to say that the S3 is leggy when you've got loads of widgets and other stuff going on? The S2 I had probably felt faster than my GFs S3 to be honest... slower CPU / GPU yes, but much lower screen resolution + more mature ROMs.Is it fair to say that the S3 is leggy when you've got loads of widgets and other stuff going on? The S3 I'm sure will be brill with JellyBean.
I've got six widgets on various home screens (Gmail, Calendar, 2x Minimalistic Text, weather and live updating rail planner) and am running everything using Nova Launcher (instead of the stock TouchWiz).
It flies. It was pretty quick on ICS, but now it's even better on JB (noticeably better battery life as well). Absolutely no lag, no redraw and very smooth animations. Had a play with my friend's iPhone 5 the other day whilst on a long weekend to Vilnius, and responsiveness wise, there was genuinely nothing between them.
