I've never seen anything bigger than a nail clipper in a cracker so slightly confused by the whole comparison!
The whole "plastic feels cheap" thing is a nonsense. Does it feel comfy is the question. Iphone feels expensive, so does caviare.....wouldnt walk round with it pressed to my ear.
I think it's fair to say the Samsung GS2 does feel like a cheaper product than the iPhone 4S.The whole "plastic feels cheap" thing is a nonsense. Does it feel comfy is the question. Iphone feels expensive, so does caviare.....wouldnt walk round with it pressed to my ear.
Comparing the two side by side in the shop the Apple product gives a better impression of a premium product than the Samsung but the latter is obviously the tougher phone. Perhaps it's a cultural thing; Asian manufacturers usually put more emphasis on actual, rather than perceived quality. Their car interiors usually feel a bit flimsy but they stand the test of time very well.
Personally I don't much care what my phone looks like. I wasn't thinking of shagging it

I've just this second got off the phone to VF and they have checked and confirmed my phone IS in the warehouse and set to be picked today, although he did disappoint me by saying I might not get it until tomorrow.
Did it arrive ok? How are getting on with it so far? First impressions etc? J a k e said:

Chased it up today as it hasn't arrived. VF said that they have (not surprisingly) taken more orders than stock. New delivery due in to the warehouse tomorrow and mine is being sent out with from this batch. Might be with me Monday but guaranteed (their words not mine) I will have mine by Tuesday latest. Have no fear, as soon as I have it you'll all know

Sounds like somebody needs a new PA
How do you look in a dress? I'm ok with the end of the month, as it's what I was expecting, and VF may well be stringing me along for some reason, but 3 different people there have said its coming. If it comes next week then all the better
Just ordered mine (in blue) from three, hope I like it. Coming from a HTC desire which apart from battery life has held up remarkably well. Have it on the one plan as the tethering looks interesting I'm hoping I'll he able to use it connected to my laptop to play iracing assuming the ping isn't too bad.
My understanding is that all phones on initial release will be 16gb and larger capacity phones will be available, don't understand this myself due to SD expansion slot but might be correct and allow gprs 128gb of total storage.
Also heard from a three store that any purchase which is not a pre-order will incurr an up front cost of of £50 upwards and possible rise in the price of the plan, although whether this was just sales banter I'm not sure. HTC one x does have an upfront cost bit then the one plan is £4 cheaper a month.

Carphone warehouse have it free on 24 month £36 contracts iirc.
I'm going to buy it outright but I think I'll wait three months and see if it drops in price a bit. Hoping to order a new PC next week which should keep me entertained in the meantime.

Three are £4/month cheaper plus allow tethering. Worked out for me on Giffgaff £10/month scheme to be £74 cheaper to buy outright, for such a small savings would prefer to keep the money and buy on contract.
If it helps, the best deals I've found the S3 "Free" for ... £25.83 a month (£31.00 before cash back)on Orange (400 Mins, Unlimited Texts, 750 MB Data) = £619.92
or
£25.83 a month (£31.00 before cash back)on Vodafone(900 Mins, Unlimited Texts, 500 MB Data) = £619.92

Screw it, I'm bored of looking at phones. I've ordered the above. I was going to get a SIM free one and a £10/month GiffGaff deal but that would be £740 total whereas the above is £620 and comes with a free 32gb MicroSD card and a phone case.

Sounds like pre-order sales are strong....if you planned to get one at launch you may miss out...or have to face massive queues if it's anything like an iPhone launch.

a lot of Samsung's advertising has been taking the piss out of the mindless sheep queuing for Apple product launches
Really? Thanks.
TBH, I assumed durbster was referring to recent Samsung adverts for the S3, which I haven't seen any mention Apple product launches.
