Got sick of waiting and just put the Polish JB 4.1.1 on mine via ODIN.
Very easy to do and WOW!
When you have got 30mins spare you need to do this. JB is a lovely step forward and the 'butter' interface really is lovely. Lots of incremental improvements that you dont notice at first but make the whole experience much nicer too.
Google NOW looks as though it could be interesting as well.
Does this do away with touchwiz and the various Samsung apps?Very easy to do and WOW!

As far as I can tell (still exploring) it keeps all settings and apps as they were. I use Quick Launch in place of TouchWiz.
There are just lots and lots of little tweaks that make it nicer (e.g. if you have multiple emails waiting it shows more detail in the dropdown notification bar etc).

Though, if I'm not mistaken, they're rolling out ICS for the S3 atm.
Edit: I ment JB!

Just a quick question - with all these people jumping up and down waiting for jelly bean, will I actually notice much difference when it comes? What will change?
It's mainly about smoooooooothness of the graphics. The reputation iOS has for being slick is largely / partly down to it being graphically very smooth whereas Android can be a bit stuttery at times. I suspect this is their aim.

What about the phone?
Is it just me who doesn't fill the phone up with media?
No, it's not just you, plenty of people go for the 16GB without putting a micro SD in. Just like with the iPhone 5, the most popular model is 16GB without expandable memory. Is it just me who doesn't fill the phone up with media?

I have a bluetooth set in my helmet (C3 SRC), I turn it on -> couple of seconds later phone is connected and "tasker" starts doing it's work:
- "Display lock" to horizontal
- Auto-brightness off
- Brightness to 100%
- Open "winamp"
- Media volume to 100%
makes it really easy and no faffing about. Tasker really comes to it's own like that. Check out this guy's videos of tasker:

Well, since "tasker" I really use it frequently on the bike.

Is there a simple walk through for this?
Yes.http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk/blog/20121003-inst...
30mins all-in for me. 20mins to download the FW and 10mins to install. Absolute piece of piss.
