LG Google Nexus 4
Discussion
I'm pleased your happy with it, thats all that matters, but my GFs is demonstrably less smooth than the Nexus. I was quite surprised, as TBH that was never really that much of an issue with my old S2... although the Nexus is STILL smoother.
Its pretty much WP7.5 / iOS smooth.
Even the HTC One X I used wasn't quite there either though. Either way it surprises me as they should have the raw power to overcome any bloat, but until you've used one without, then you may not realise it.

My contract has just run out and my old Desire is on its last legs, so I think I'll be getting myself one of these. Sounds like it's going to be an O2 exclusive for the first month - http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/48164/o2-secures-n...
I was planning to buy outright and get a cheap SIM-only deal, I presume that these aren't likely to be operator locked in any way?

Hardly difficult to buy it though, surely? Just go on eBay or something.
I've got a business, I need an invoice.Besides, I have some suppliers here that have provided me with excellent support, buying one "grey import" could backfire badly when it goes wrong and you've got nowhere to go.

There are loads of business sellers on eBay, just give them your VAT number when buying and I'm sure they will exclude it. One popular one is call e-cell.Besides, I have some suppliers here that have provided me with excellent support, buying one "grey import" could backfire badly when it goes wrong and you've got nowhere to go.
Also, there is no such thing as "grey" import in the EU.
I want one of these so badly!
I'm signed up to get the email when they're available, and even though I can't really justify spunking nearly £300 this close to Christmas, my Desire S feels old and clunky now. The Nexus 4 looks so shiny and clever and pretty and OMG I WANT IT NOW
Then probably a Nexus 7 or 10 for home use sometime soon too

That's given me the horn for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 too.But with the Nexus 4 would I miss any of the HTC Sense software that I've been used to on my Desire HD? I don't mean the launcher (I replaced it with LauncherPro) but other stuff like facebook integration or whatever. I don't think I've ever played with a vanilla Android device.

Hopefully all of 4.2 will work as smooth on the galaxy nexus. That photosphere app looks amazing.
Proper innovative stuff!

Reviews are up on Engadget and The Verge.
Biggest disadvantage seems to be no LTE which is hardly a disadvantage in the UK at the moment.
It really is a non issue, and as discussed in the 4G threads there is no real desirability for it given the current price of data tariffs anyway.Biggest disadvantage seems to be no LTE which is hardly a disadvantage in the UK at the moment.
