Just tinkering with some site designs for the new FP website at the moment.

Any opinions on
www.f900.co.uk/new

Not all pages etc. present yet.

Could do with jazzing it up a little, maybe a touch of flash on the front page?

All opinions welcome

NO! NO FLASH! FLASH IS EVIL!

Comments...

Having text in the form of images is not dialup-friendly.
The pages are not valid HTML according to http://validator.w3.org/
"Click to enter" sites are annoying - better without that page.

Apart from that, and the obvious bits that aren't finished yet, seems great.

Will get shot of the click to enter page then.

No sure why validator reports them as invalid, their standard pages that dreamweaver chucks out, will have to look into this.

Text really has to be an image as the font is a nonstandard one, actualy a modified toyota MR2 font

S'nice, for a first draught.

Have a look at this, it's something I started when I worked there - we guessed our demographic wouldn't have flash but would have a fast connection (at the time - no modems to worry about) so we went 'straight', there's a lot in it so we had to make it as quick and america friendly as possible (no offence lads!!), simple layout, easy to navigate, interesting and simple english, to the point. It was my first go, and they've added stuff since.

Have a look at a few others - that's a flash one... Clever and Tacky at the same time eh, though there are some cute flash sites - but they tend to be up the programmers arse more than getting the point accross...

Microsoft's site sucks, i can't do a simple download, I can't get back to where I was, I don't know who to contact, there no obvious links to other usefull stuff, I don't like their 'surgery' colour scheme, there are too many pages (OK Microsoft is massive and includes MSN and stuff, but you get the idea...).
