So my into offer of 200mb broadband and phone has shot up to £50pm they’re now offering 300+ broadband that id like whilst getting a cheaper deal. Do I just ring normal customer service or do I need to get through to retentions?

Yeah, new 12 month contract. I was told this would've been the best thing to do but cancelling the previous contract meant I would've lost the phone number which has been in the household since 1973.
BTW despite them offering broadband without a phone, it's always cheaper to take the phone line and not use it. They seem to charge a £3 premium for not supplying a phone line.

That's taking the proverbial ain't it.

If they made it cheaper to not have a landline 99% of customers would cancel their phone line, this would cost Virgin £19.99 a month per customer, thats a lot of easy money to lose

Which is great if you have a decent Openreach line!
