Hi here's a quick question; I've just set up a new office and BT installed a line for my broadband. It was activated overnight and this morning I simply plugged in the router, switched it on and after getting the blue lights my laptop located the Wi-Fi signal and I entered the wireless key. Simple, just like you'd expect it worked immediately.

Now over the last few days BT have sent me a user name, a password and what looks like an obscure email address. These take the form;

strange email?: d456123@hg70.btclick.com
BT Business Account and BT Wi-Fi Password: abc01211103500
Network login password: comapnyname2014

Anyone got any idea what these are all for because my internet worked just by connecting to the router?

Tnx...

ETA it may be something to do with BT Wi-Fi anywhere but just included in the letter with my new router. Just badly worded and designed to confuse me. Not that I'd know which of these to use to sign onto Wi-Fi?!?

I believe they're the details that are stored in your router to personally identify you as a BT Business customer to the BT servers when you connect to the internet. You will only need them if you accidently reset you hub as this wipes these details.

Looks like they've used it as your BT WiFi password too.

Keep them somewhere safe. smile

1) strange email?: d456123@hg70.btclick.com
2) BT Business Account and BT Wi-Fi Password: abc01211103500
3) Network login password: comapnyname2014

1) not an email. Its you username for accessing the internet. This is entered into the bt router. Unlikely you will need it as the router tends to pick it up automatically
2) bt wifi is for when your out and about outside of the premises and you find a bt wifi hot spot. You can connect to it using that.
3) network login password goes with your username from #1

If you have any queries you can call them on 0800800154. They attempt to pick up their calls within 30 seconds....They often fail though.

Really considerate of you to dish out your login details. If these are the real ones you might want to change them.

Thanks
