Which of these 4 laptops is best please?

Sorry for the annoying question, but having been out of the PC world for a bit, I'm not too familiar with the new range of processors, and have found a few reviews about i3/5 dual cores being more efficient than even a quad core AMD!
I want dedicated graphics I think, for HL2 maps etc.
I think this one is the most powerful, due to the dual graphics, but maybe not!

You talk about games, so... None of the ones you've listed seems to tick the boxes.

The middle two have Intel HD graphics I.e. not suitable for games.
The last one has a discrete graphics card but a sub par processor
The first has an APU which ... well lets not go there.

You want an i3 or i5 with a discrete graphics card Radeon or NVidia. Generally higher numbers mean better but sites like tomshardware.co.uk or anandtech have performance charts. Disk an Ram size are pretty much "who cares".

Isn't HD4000+ pretty respectable for lower end gaming? Or is the laptop version weaker?

If you're looking to play modern games on high settings a laptop is never going to be the answer anyway.

I understand for modern games its not much use, I have the Xbox for that. But I do play HL2 a bit as new maps are released weekly and my current 4 year old PB laptop plays that OK at medium detail, so just want to sort of lean towards a bit more poke.
I did worry the one with the better graphics had a slightly ropey processor.
So i3 or i5 is the way to go. Thanks!

Some laptops can play modern games on high settings, you just have to pay a fair bit more ... but the HD4000 can handle some gaming reasonably well.

I've got an older i7 laptop (2630qm @ 2gig) that has intel HD3000 and an NVidia GT520M. It will happily play Crysis with the HD3k (not highest detail, but it will still play). For Crysis 2 it definitely needed the GT520M.

Half Life 2 will play fine on any of these listed, but if you're after something with a bit of go PC World do have an i5 laptop with GeForce 720M (£550) and another with a GeForce820M (£600).
