I see on Tescos page they have released the specs of the new Hudl.Bigger HD screen, faster quad core processor and 16GB memory. Having bought the Hudl for my son last Christmas, being quite impressed with it and being a bit of an Android fan, Im seriously thinking this (with a keyboard) could be worth having for browsing etc and be a replacement to my constantly crashing ancient MacBook. Screen size will take getting used to but might be worth a punt.
Techradar and Pocketlint reports 8.3" 1080p screen, Intel atom quad core and 2gb ram for £129! Sounds a bargain.
My Mrs bought an original hudl a couple of months ago and the only thing I can fault it for is the screen, really washed out/poor colour reproduction. If they've sorted that out then I'll buy one.

Thats bizzare,I cant find it either now! this morning I looked it up and there were several pages of them, admittedly you couldnt order yet as theyre not released till the 8th but showed the different colours, spec and the price of £129. I know I didnt imagine it!
They may have put them up by accident, then pulled them.£129 for a 1.83ghz quad core atom, 8.3" 1920x1200 screen, Android 4.4.2. Not bad at all. Could almost be time for me to replace the old Nexus 7.

Thats weird, the screen was one of the high points on the two Hudls we have - maybe not the brightest, but both are sharp, vibrant, high quality screens. My oldest has been using his a bit for comic books, it does a cracking job.My Mrs bought an original hudl a couple of months ago and the only thing I can fault it for is the screen, really washed out/poor colour reproduction. Surely if you have £100 of clubcard points you'd be getting it for £29.

There's a minimum spend on there, no mention of a maximum value of clubcards. So if you've been saving your points all year you could get one of these for free.
When I said £65 I obviously meant £65 in vouchers not cash so yes if you have enough vouchers it will be 'free'My Hudl technically cost me £1 last year as I used my points, many of which had come from TCB.

The rear facing camera will be better as well. 5 megapixels compared to 3 on the old one. Oddly enough the front camera is only 1.2 compared to 2 on the old one as far as I can discern...
Pixel count doesn't really matter - its light gathering ability that counts. On that count the original Hudl was utterly useless. My youngest loves Angry Birds Go, and the telepods just wouldn't work on the Hudl no matter how good the lighting. Whereas my 2012 Nexus 7 handled both that and Skype without any problems. The camera is the one area that needed improvement on the original Hudl, everything else was pretty good.

I know I have lots of experience with the original Hudl, and the camera was pretty shocking in almost every measure. That and the fact that the micro-usb port seemed to be made of cheese, which is pretty bad considering it was partially aimed at children. I'd have thought it would be a bit harder to deform than it is. Hopefully that's something the 2 addresses.
Tesco replaced the unit down to a faulty usb port. Ive now told my son to charge it while he is asleep and not to play with it plugged in.He seems to have got the message since he had to start again with his Minecraft world....
