When linked up to Sonos now only get one track unless using radio, was working ok, any ideas?
Mine went a bit odd this morning too when I asked Alexa to play something through one of the Sonos. Tried the Sonos app and it asked me to update. Did that and it all worked fine again.Looks like all the retailers are selling Dots at 35 quid this morning although I can't work out if Amazon is one of them. The phone app listings for Black Friday are horrible to navigate.
Just got an Amazon Alexa for £35 from amazon and when buying that there was an offer to get a tp link smart plug for £9.99 when getting an echo.
Also used a VoucherCodes offer that ends today for a £5 voucher when getting an echo or there’s a £10 voucher for echo plus IIRC https://www.vouchercodes.co.uk/search/?q=Amazon

Now I heard Echo now works with Ikea smart bulbs... What do I need to buy?
All items can be found here: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/lighting/smart-...You’d need the hub at £25 then bulbs to fit what you require.

Perfect thanks. Surely this will blow Philips out the water? The price difference is staggering! You’d need the hub at £25 then bulbs to fit what you require.

I am wondering if Phillips will trim their prices now that they have more competition. £40/£50 for a coloured bulb just seems a bit steep to me.
I think the Hue bridge is still worth having. Just use either 'innr' or IKEA bulbs, both work perfectly with Hue.Phillips' cash cow with the bulbs is over now. They need to reduce prices or they won't sell many.
I'm trying to talk myself (and then, in turn, SWMBO) into this given it's relatively cheap:
Samsung Smarthings Starter Kit for £100
But honestly, I don't quite understand how I'd make use of all the sensors to either make life easier, better or even more interesting. I'm okay with toys for toys sake and there seems to be plenty of them in that kit, but currently home wise I've got an Echo Dot and a few TP-Link wall plugs. Is this worth looking at, and what would I do with it?

It will work with smart devices that use ZigBee and Zwave protocols. These are becoming the "standard" protocols. Samsung Smarthings Starter Kit for £100

So any non samsung devices that use those protocols can be easily connected.
You can also connect stuff to it by IFTTT but i understand this will cause a delay,so not great for lights etc.

At £100 its a good shout though
I'm keen to get in on this but as far as I can tell I need the Echo Plus if I want to control multiple smart devices without buying their own bridges etc.? That doesn't appear to be reduced currently.
Any chance of it going down on Black Friday?
Do I actually need it? I'd like to use the bulbs, either Hue, Ikea, Innr etc. and I'd like to get something like Hive or Nest. Beyond that I'm not sure yet but I don't want to be limited in the future because I tried to save a few quid now...

I think Hue functionality its not fully enabled with the Echo Plus. Probably better off picking up a bridge instead, they can be had for £50 including two white bulbs. Then just use a regular echo (or dot) to control it.
