A smart plug with Alexa built in so you don't need to be within earshot of your echo sounds an interesting idea if that's what it is. I'd be more interested in more companies making smart wall sockets and switches rather than plug in adaptors though.

I like the Auto. I'll probably get one of those.
I did rig up my Dot when I got it. It was a pain to do and it didn't always reconnect when I started the engine, so gave up after a few days.
I have just had a mail from Amazon listing some of the products but not AutoI did rig up my Dot when I got it. It was a pain to do and it didn't always reconnect when I started the engine, so gave up after a few days.
I will get the Auto though when it is available
I did intend to set up a Dot when I get my new car. Car is due in 3 to 4 weeks...let's see if Auto arrives first?

So asked Alexa to turn on my TV today (via TPlink plug) and it asked if I want to replace her talking with a sound.
Far better now!
How are you getting Alexa to turn on your TV using a TPlink plug?Far better now!
I'm asking because my Tv would come on but in stand-by mode if the electricity supply to it (the TV) were being controlled at the socket by a TPlink plug.

If I have the TV on when I get Alexa to turn it off (via TPlink) then when I ask it to be on again it turns on - doesn't turn on in stand-by

Still persevering with my Echo Dot but I swear she is getting less responsive with each day that passes. It's as though with age she is getting deaf like my Dad,
have you tried turning it off and on again? I got an echo show in the Amazon sale.
What a waste of money. Screen flickers till I mess around with the light sensor, doesn’t stay connected to WiFi. Only connects to 1 band. It’s actually pointless anyway.
For me it’s one of those devices that I convinced myself I might use and have no use for whatsoever.
It’s basically a £80 kitchen clock with a flickering screen that tells me the weather and repeatedly says “I’m sorry. . “
. . But that new one looks great, it’s got that bigger display. . . I’m sure the Wi-fi receiver will be better. .
