The Echo Wall Clock is up for pre order, released on August 6th, £29.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Echo-Wall-Clock/dp...

This isn't an Echo itself, it connects to your Echo and shows any timers/alarms you set.
We need a new clock for the kitchen, just the job!
My thoughts exactly and I use the timer function with the kitchen dot all the time. Sod it I'm going to pre-order this.

I keep waiting for the echo watch to replace my existing smart watch.

I'm new to the world of Amazon Echo, but I've got a little mad lately - I've got an Echo input in the front room connected to my soundbar, an input connected to a speaker in the bedroom (I may yet replace that with another echo) and I've just ordered two echos for the kids' bedrooms. Then I bought 4 wifi plugs and a lightbulb. And a thermostat (which I haven't fitted yet).

I'm really impressed with them as they'll pick up sound when I'm talking quietly and sometimes downstairs, the upstairs echo will hear me too.

I'm wondering what goodies will be in the flash sale on Friday - For more stuff I don't need (!) smile

Even the Echo has good, room filling sound for its size and ease of use.

Also looking out for what deals will be on Monday.

I'm trying to work out the point when the dot etc would be on a timer as well? Or is it just for gadgets sake?

Thats the bit that makes me laugh. We moved from looking at a clock to time cooking to being able to just ask Alexa to set a timer. Now that advances to Alexa telling the clock to show us how long is left...which is where we started.

To be fair this should probably be in the frivolous purchase thread but then so should everything in this thread. The existing wall clock in the kitchen needs a new battery so using some man maths this is a proper bargain. It even has a 60-LED display and I've no idea how that works so it's clearly bloody brilliant.

Further discounts on Echo today....only if you order by Alexa.

Just added another Dot for £22 and a Show2 for £159.99.

It shows the full price in the basket and discounts at the checkout

It's been a long time since I started this thread, and I've only just bought a second amazon device - Fire TV cube, for $70. I need a replacement for an deeply ailing PS3 for media streaming, and with the prime day discount, this looks appealing.

Alexa herself was knocked off the top of the fridge the other day, and would benefit from surgery; her top needs gluing on.

I've taken advantage of the prime deals to get a Show 5 for £50 and a fire TV stick for the bedroom TV for £20. Pleased with that as I nearly bought a Show 5 for £80 a few weeks ago.

Frustratingly, I did buy a Show 5 for £80 a few weeks ago.

Is an Echo Show 5 a good replacement for a bedside clock and radio?

Just spotted an Echo input £15, but you use your own speaker.

I wouldn’t bother with the input for the sake of saving £7.

I bought one to connect to my Samsung soundbar as the speaker on the dot would never have been used so I thought the input would be a neater solution. It seems to regularly drop the Bluetooth connection, if the soundbar is not left on then of course you negate the remote nature in having to physically go down and switch it on and you don’t know if it’s heard you or not if the connection needs repairing as of course it has no speaker to give you the audio ping to say what’s happening.

I do exactly this, but I've cabled the connection to my soundbar.

I'm getting rid of an input that I used in my bedroom (I've had it a month) connected up to a speaker, but having two devices to do the one job seemed pointless

How do I set my Exho to play Radio 4 every weekday morning from 0645, but turn off 45 minutes later?

Cant work it out. I know it's me being thick, but help!

I assume you know that to set it playing, you simply tell it to set an alarm for every weekday morning at 6.45 to Radio 4.

The only way I've figured out to stop it playing some time later is to set a sleep timer as I get up.
