My HomePod died, one of a pair in my conservatory and I eventually managed to get Curry’s to cough up £117 under the CRA.

Has anybody got a pair of Studio’s and compared them to HomePod sound quality?

I’ve got Dot 3’s throughout my house so it would make sense to keep everything under the same brand.

Studio reviews seem to be mostly positive.

I had a Studio which was lovely and had a much more rounded sound. It was sent back because there was no remote control for volume (can you imagine shouting at it to change the volume all the time?). SkyQ audio was never able to Sync. These things drove me mad, so I returned it.

I use my mobile, or tablet to control the volume and other sound settings to reduce the shouting.

Anyone else on here with an Echo Show 8 been suffering from intermittent connectivity problems since the recent firmware update ? I noted a week or two back the front display had changed and it also now shows the date. However since then mine's been struggling with wifi - of course it's over a year old as well so while I've opened a call with Amazon I expect them to say it's not their issue (or maybe offer a discount on a new one, which will still mean cost).

Does anyone else on here have an Echo show 10 (G3) and also have Alexa on a PC?
When I use “drop in” from mobile or tablet I can move the screen remotely, but it doesn’t seem to work from my laptop!
I was relying on this when away from home as a security help!
I just found out that Amazon Guard (home security app) is not available in UK (although they accidentally released it in UK for a while) so it looks like I’ll have to get an external camera or maybe a ring doorbell. That’s not playing the game!

Woke up this morning to find all the echo devices I have are not functioning.
They are showing as ‘online’ and I have internet access so it looks like something is up with the Echo devices.

It's happened to me a few times over the last few weeks, I suspect problems on AWS that Amazon are keeping quiet about.

Anyone here using an Echo as a chime for a Ring or similar doorbell?

Our Echo's are usually on relatively low volume for some background music, so the doorbell alert is too quiet for my liking. I can't see a way to make specific alerts louder, so currently have set up a routine to be triggered by the doorbell, turn the volume up (tested at volume 10 last night at 11pm, the Mrs wasn't impressed!), say "There's someone at the door", and then turn the volume down down to 2. The problem here is whenever the doorbell is rung it will end up resetting the volume to 2, which might be different than it's previous setting.

Is there a way to either note the volume at the start and set it back to that value at the end, or to have a different volume set for alerts than for playing music?
