iWatch, worth it ?
Discussion
I have one and I love it, primarily for fitness and it does everything and more my polar loop did, also handy features like seeing messages and declining calls etc without taking phone out of pocket.
Citymapper is good on it and can change tracks on the run rather than fiddle with my arm.
Get one you won't regret it

Apart from have an accurate HRM, or possibly do sleep tracking? Apple have acknowledged the "accuracy" of the HRM on the Apple Watch (it will only be accurate when walking, running or gentle cycling). As a result, the only decent thing about it for fitness tracking is that it can use a bluetooth HRM strap. Its a nice gadget, but it isn't particularly good at one of its primary functions.
3 people in my office have one.
2 of them love it, the other thinks they wasted their money.
My observations are:

My observations are:
- the metal strap feels cheap. £10 Casio's feel better quality
- They are another distration (as if phones and iPads aren't bad enough in the office)
- They "ping" reminders. A lot.
- People seem to buy stands to put their watch on to charge it
I bought one just over a week ago. It's not something that you need but it certainly has its uses. I like the fact that I now have my phone and watch on silent and when I get a notification the watch just taps my wrist. This way nobody gets bothered by 'ping-ping' noises all the time and it's very subtle. It's also quite good not to have to take your phone out your pocket to check simple things like the weather tomorrow or how to get to a certain place when you're walking along.
I know it's pretty much a work in progress at the moment but it's suprised me at how good it actually is. As Apple release updates I'm sure it'll improve too.
When I went to have a play with one in an Apple Store I didn't think much of it but when you're using it in 'real life' it is much better.
Oh, I also bought the 42mm Watch Sport with the black strap at £339. I really wanted the 42mm Watch with Milanese loop but at £600 I thought it might be a bit too much to pay if it turned out to be a bit rubbish.
I hope that helps you OP!

I've been using an Apple Watch for a month or so now. Pretty happy with it.
It's a good watch which also does a lot of other stuff. Notifications are the best aspect for me. Out of the box you will get alerts for everything, but with a bit of selection, you can cut it down to things that you really want to know about. Then you can happily leave your iPhone in your pocket or other side of the room, and if you have an network, in other rooms or even buildings.
Went with the Sport with a black band. Very comfortable, replaced a Rolex Sub for daily wear. Battery life is surprisingly good, fitness readings very consistent.
Directions are a hoot too with different haptic taps telling you to turn right or left. Works surprisingly well.
Worth buying? Whatever floats your boat - if you end up not liking it you'll probably sell it on easily enough.

Yes. It's brilliant.
But then I bought an iPhone (original) and iPad (original) both of which I also thought and still think are great.
My girlfriend has an iPad (1 or 2, possibly 3) and it doesn't even have a working YouTube app any more as it apparently "requires" the latest iOS, that isn't available for that generation of iPad. YouTube is not the only app that won't work. Despite the hardware being fine, it is becoming less and less useful. I'm not really sure how that is supposed to be acceptable. But then I bought an iPhone (original) and iPad (original) both of which I also thought and still think are great.

That appears to be Google's decision, not Apple's.Leithen said:

Not having to get my phone out to check notifications is a bonus for me.
Also, you don't see many of them (yet). I quite like that.
And battery life....it's lasted all day, every day so far.
Just go for the Sport and pass on through eBay if it doesn't work out for you.
