Amazon Prime I cannot stream to my telly though, as my TV runs on Wifi at the other end of the house rooms away from any connection. It is even on a boosted wifi signal.
What's the chances of them developing an app for my smart TV so I can watch it through that?
What make is your television? My Sony has both Netflix and Amazon apps available via SEN, plus a zillion other (cr)apps. What's the chances of them developing an app for my smart TV so I can watch it through that?

Actually there could be some Grey as I just found this.
On 5 June 2014, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled that streaming illegal content online is legal in Europe. "As long as an Internet user is streaming copyrighted content online ... it’s legal for the user, who isn’t willfully [sic] making a copy of said content. If the user only views it directly through a web browser, streaming it from a website that hosts it, he or she is apparently doing nothing wrong."
Not sure about that interpretation myself but I think you'd be hard pressed to apply that ruling to streaming in Kodi.

Samsung Smart HD.
Apps work fine but cant find an easy way to add Apps, I presume you cant and they all come pre loaded.
My Samsung has the ability to add apps through The smart button, or at least it did unless they switched it off. Sadly Amazon are turning their Prime app off for my model TV on September 14th so I have to but a Fire box. Rarely watch mainstream channels now, I much prefer Netflix of Prime. Prime currently has best choice ( for me) but I've found they both go in ups and downs as regards content.
They both demonstrate how the Licence fee is an anachronism and should be stopped.

How old is your TV? My Samsung smart was bought December 2013 and has the Netflix app on it. I went for the month free trial yesterday on the back of this thread and it works fine on all devices.Rarely watch mainstream channels now, I much prefer Netflix of Prime. As for the "mainstream channels", the wife and I cancelled our cable as soon as we had netflix. We watch/read the news online, and netflix has more to offer than we could ever see, without ads.
Netflix you can watch on 2 devices at the same time as standard. If you go into accout there is an option for 1 device at time for the same price so not sure if this is new customers or why it's even there. You can have a several accounts though under 1 paid account, my girlfriend watches netflix 40miles away on my account as I watch something else which makes the £5.99 even better value.

My dad has just got a Fire TV box, could I set up a user profile and set him up as a user on my account on his Fire TV for the £5.99 HD/2 screens account I'm on now? So I'd make a new profile, set up my email and password at his place on the Fire and his profile would be there to log into. Is that how it works?ajprice said:

We are also on 2hd screens for 5.99£. Canadian and Brazil version of netflix are much, much better than USA let alone UK one.
We were offered an option to go for 5 screens at the same time for £8.99. Sometimes if we try to watch more than two channels (forget to exit on one of the TVs, it tells you 'maximum number of concurrent sessions reached, please try later'. Very straightforward, and excellent value for money, even with £4.99 on top to be able to select which 'zone' you want to watch.
