Oneplus 3 invites and chatter

Does this create problems with apps which think it's been rooted? I had an S3 a few years ago with Cyanogen and I couldn't run Virgin TV on it because of it.
It has NFC and from the reviews I've read it works with Android Pay which as I understand doesn't work with rooted phones. So presumably it will also work with banking and paid TV apps. I needed a new phone for the wife and after looking for weeks, in the end i thought i'd order a oneplus3.
What a farce. I've tried to place an order for the last couple of days using a credit card, always an error at the end of the process. Cant help but think its related to lack of the CSC number from the card. Support tickets go unanswered and on line chat time out in the queue. I'm working on the theory that as i've received no confirmation emails that the order gets cancelled.
Undeterred, i finally placed an order using Paypal which i have just received the confirmation from oneplus3. Lets just hope the phone is good as the experience to-date hasn't been a good one.

All set up, looks great and seems really fast, but can't use it yet as I didn't realise this had a nano sim, and my current one plus one is a micro sim! New sim now ordered so a few more days to wait.
If you're feeling brave you can just cut it yourself using a template:http://www.gosoftworks.com/GoSoftWorks/NanoSIM_fil...

Make sure you haven't been charged, quite a few people have reported on the forums that they got the "uh oh" message but been charged. What a farce. I think much like cars, most stuff is so well built these days getting an newer one means different paint.
It's very good, just like my 2 yr old one was.
Yes an improvement but nothing like going from a Nokia to a smartphone.
Pretty much this really. My OP1 was getting a little tired. It's very good, just like my 2 yr old one was.

The build quality of the OP3 is superb though, a big leap from the OP1!
One thing I have noticed it that the charger seems to be upside down. I purchased two so will check the other one but the supplied one certainly is.
To explain, with the three pin plug in correct wall orientation the logo is upside down and the logo on the cable is also on the bottom as it only plugs in one way.

Yeah, noticed that too. But once it's plugged in I never see mine anyway! To explain, with the three pin plug in correct wall orientation the logo is upside down and the logo on the cable is also on the bottom as it only plugs in one way.
I was all ready to order one of these before the price was announced as I was hoping it would be around £250. At £309 it is in a bit of a no mans land price wise, between true budget phones and premium phones such as the Samsung S7 Edge.
So, is it really as good as the Samsung or are there lots of compromises, hence the cheaper price. Basically am I going to be happy with it or will I be constantly wishing I just got the premium phone instead.

I think this is is big step on from my Oneplus One.
- It looks and feels so much better quality, as good as any flagship phone
- It really flies with no lag
- The fingerprint sensor is instant
- The silent mode rocker switch is useful
- The camera seems much better with no lag and OIS
- Having dual SIM is really handy if you have a private and work phone
- I'm currently getting around 50% battery left when I leave work as opposed to around 20% or less with the OPO - with the same apps loaded.
- Dash charging is great and really fast, though I wish they hadn't used a proprietary system as you now have to buy their chargers/cables like Apple
- The AMOLED screen seems great to me, though I have read some criticism. I think 1080 is fine on a 5.5" phone and if the trade off is better battery life I'd rather have that
- Oxygen seems clean and stable so far, more so than Cyanogen on my OPO
There are lots of positive reviews out there saying this is their best phone so far:

Most reviews say the Samsung S7 has the edge re the screen size, camera and expandable storage, but it is £200-£300 more plus it depends if you like Touchwiz.
For the price I think this is the best Android phone currently available.

Sounding really good. Sadly bad timing for me as my 'delivery' from the UK wouldn't have made it safely. Definitely eyeing this up for my next purchase though, sounds like a top phone for half the price of others.
Slightly concerned about update requirements/stability though as being on a remote island with satellite broadband doesn't lend itself to large downloads...
