I have a laptop without a cd drive and a number of CDs that I would like to transfer onto a memory stick to play in the car. Any suggestions on what to buy to be able to do this via my HP laptop without a cd drive?

As above, source an external CD drive. If you have an it-type friend, there's a good chance they've got one laying around.

Then there's loads of software to convert your CD to a format the car's stereo can read (the last part is important!). Windows Media Player itself will do the job. Usually the functionality can be found under "Rip CD".

As above - external CD drive is the easiest option.

If by chance you bought the CDs from Amazon AND you if have Amazon Prime then you should be able to download the CDs in MP3 format via the Amazon Music website - there are a couple of big IFs there though.

Just download the music from a torrent site.

No different than ripping a CD yourself.

I bought a cheap ebay external dvd-rw drive for about £13 a few years ago and it's still going strong.
