boosting my parents WiFi please help on options
Discussion
my parents currently live in a house with thick brick walls so wifi is not great to make matters worse they are in a non fiber area.
they currently have bt internet through a phone line and I want to use a firetv stick in the living room and currently the router is in the dinning room next door.
the fire stick currently works there but connection keeps dropping and coming and going so I think i need to boost the signal to that room some how , great i thought so i purchased a wifi extender homeplug but this did not fix it im thinking the one i purchased was to cheap
any suggestions on the ones that are easy to setup and actually work?
so what are my options people thanks in advance and kudos for any great ideas

As above. Power line adapters are quick to set up, relatively inexpensive and reliable. I've used TP-Link for the last 2 years. This one will do the job:
TP-LINK AV500 Powerline 300 M Wi-Fi Extender/Wi-Fi Booster/Hotspot with Two Ethernet Ports, Starter Kit/Twin Pack (Easy Configuration, Wi-Fi Clone for Smartphone/Tablets/Laptop)
£38 on Amazon.

Does anybody have a link (would prefer Amazon as I have prime) to a decent set that offer the following:
1. Upto 1200mbps ethernet
2 extends WIFI
3. don't loose a power socket.
I want to powerline my desktop (LG Chromebase) which is only about 3 metres from my Home Hub 5 but seems to be very hit and miss. I also want a powerline adapter up stairs to boost wifi.
Ever since switching from Sky Fibre (openreach modem + Apple airport extreme) to BT Infinity 2 (HH5) have been suffering with poor singal and drop outs.

they wont be on anything fast , I think it is adsl down the phone line so maybe 5-10 meg all I no is that the speed is fine its the signal thats causing the issue as the wifi signal fluctuates rapidly
when the fire stick is connected it works brill but then every now and then it loses the signal

Powerline.
Plug one powerline unit into the mains next to your router.
Plug the other powerline in the room where they need the wifi.
Look for Devolo etc.
I'm using Devolo for years now.
Just pick a good brand.
My Devolo is ace, great signal, great fast loading of Netflix on smart TV etc.Plug one powerline unit into the mains next to your router.

Have you differentiated between the 2 wifi networks the home hub 5 outputs 1. Upto 1200mbps ethernet
2 extends WIFI
3. don't loose a power socket.

Yep.
One of my examples of poor form from HH5:
When I get home, with wifi already turned on, on my Nexus 6P, I walk in the house and on the previous Airport Extreme setup the Nexus 6P would connect straight away. HH5 seems to wait for me to physically unlock phone, go into wifi settings and then connects.
Also I occasionally unlock phone to find its disconnected from wifi for no reason, this never happend on Airport Extreme.

I've got the TP-Link TL-WPA4220KIT. Small unit plugged in near router, connected using ethernet cable. Wifi unit plugged in on the landing and with the router downstairs gives me coverage all over the house.
Exactly the same here. I think it cost £35 for the thing that plugs into the router and the thing that plugs into the opposite end of the house.Works pretty well, the only problem I seem to have is getting WiFi into the bathroom. I'm wondering whether it's because the bathroom is tiled all round?
