OK, so this latest revision seems to have some actual useful technology - built in GPS and completely waterproof for swimming down to 50m.
Anyone interested?
I could see myself using it quite a lot, but it's still a minimum £399 spend for me (42mm Aluminium sport Series 2). The one I'd really want (42mm S/Steel tan leather series 2) is a whopping £699!
I probably won't bother.

50m waterproofing in a normal watch means you can't normally swim in it. (i think it's due to the pressure caused by the movement)
Are these definitely approved for water activity beyond a brief dip?
edited: got that wrong ok for swimming but not jumping into the water or activities.

I was going to do the same but with the current exchange rate and US sales tax it's about a £75 saving. I will probably buy in the UK to benefit from the better consumer protection (i.e. not just the standard worldwide 1 year Apple warranty)I've got the Series 1, and whilst it's not bad, I don't really wear it much anymore.
I don't want to keep it on charge all the time, so if I do want to wear it I have to think ahead to put it on charge.
I use it when I go for runs just as a screen for my pace and total time, whilst Strava would be running on my phone, would be nice to not have my phone whilst running, but it;s not that big of a deal. Quite often if I go for a run I would end up stopping somewhere, chilling, checking facebook anyway.

People who say they have the series 1 in this thread, they don't.
We (myself included) have the series 0.
When the series 2 is launched, they will also launch a series 1 which is faster than the current watch.
BTW - I'm happy with mine and a faster processor, GPS and water proofing isn't enough for me to upgrade.

I've had my SS black for about 7 months now and I'm amazed how its become part of my life. Bearing in mind I've also invested in three very expensive watches to be passed down to my three sons I haven't worn any of those since the day I got my Apple Watch.
My company builds exhibition stands and it's abused, I mean really abused, but still looks like new (one reason why I got steel as it's tougher than aluminium), no scratches on the face and fits perfectly with a black Milanese loop.
Up a ladder the other day at 5m and a quick flick of the wrist allows me to view an email, see who's calling etc. I like to keep in touch if need be or simply ignoring until it's safe to respond.
I won't be buying the second generation but will no doubt buy the third or fourth.
That said I'm looking forward to the new OS.

Sold it recently in prep for the S2 but have got back into my auto's and g-shocks so not sure I'll be pulling the trigger at all on the S2 ceramic now, I don't miss my Apple Watch in the slightest
