My pixel 4 bricked itself the other day, at 2.5 years old. It just turned off after uploading a ride to Strava whilst playing music. Nothing I could do would turn it back on. Alas, my pixel story continues, having had a Pixel 1, then a 4, I've just gone and got a 6. I'm not happy with the deal, but it is what it is.
A Spigen Tough Armour case arrived last night as I do quite a bit of outside stuff and I like to keep them safe. Usually have the otterbox case but they went downhill whilst their prices went up.
Being honest, not seeing a massive improvement just yet, bar battery life. My 4 could barely last a day and often needed a top up in the evening. The 6 battery is much more impressive. Been on since last night and still has 72 percent left.
The camera as always is a highlight, and I like the ability to remove stuff (like a misplaced bin) from the image. It was just nearside rear light, but it's gone!

Had my 6 pro since launch day, and only just found out it's picky about headphone adaptors. Probably old news to many, but not all adaptors are created equal. Apparently some have a DAC in, and others don't. The pixel only works with the white one, which I assume therefore has a DAC inside. I think the white one came with my pixel 2, and the black one came with a samsung tablet.

The one in the box for my Pixel 5 worked well with headphones but I think constantly running with it with the adaptor and headphones plugged in did for the USB-C port and it stopped charging happily without cable wiggling. For that reason I made the switch to Bluetooth headphones and gave up on adaptors.HM-2 said:

I saw a deal on mobiles.co.uk for the 6 on VF, £45 upfront/£26pm/30GB date - works out at £661 over 24 months and phone is £599 from Google, so £2.58pm for 30GB.I have other lines with EE but spoke to them today and best they could offer me was effectively the same price as buying the handset and sticking on a SIM only deal. I don't even need much data!
Swithered on it but I'd miss the fingerprint sensor on the back and the underscreen one gets slagged everywhere you look, I still hate hole punch screens, and I don't really want a big phone again after going 2xl to 4xl which I immediately gave to the Mrs and picked up a very lightly used Google refurbed 3 - perfect size (and I'm not exactly a wee person)
Well, I'm now a few days in with the Pixel 6 Pro - really liking it so far. The Pixel "experience" really is very nice indeed.
No issues yet, and I got a reasonable deal. With £250 back for my old phone, my contact cost will be well below the first of the handset if I bought outright.

Anyway, bit the bullet and bought it outright. Amex are doing a cashback deal where you get a £60 credit if you spend over £300 in the store so that takes it down to £539 and I'll stick with my Giffgagg SIM. Works out equivalent to most of the deals out there and I'm not tied to a contract.
Only got it yesterday but having used it quite a bit already I haven't had any problems with the fingerprint sensor. Some of the videos I've seen people complaining about it, they're clearly not holding it for long enough. When I got my 3XL it took me a while to work out best way to use sensor.
Looking forward to trying out the camera.
