Google Pixel smartphone

I picked up a Pixel 6 Pro about 5 weeks ago, my Pixel 4 was slowly dying at around 2.5 years old. The battery was pretty awful, and for some bizarre reason NFC payment stopped working. I tried changing the app and the bank card but still didn't work.

Got the Pixel 6 Pro for £70 upfront and £38.50/month with 10Gb of data and unlimited calls/texts.

I'm pretty happy with it so far, but in reality my Pixel 4 was fine aside from the aforementioned issues plus the fact it was the 64Gb model and I was seriously running low on storage, didn't make that mistake this time so went for the 256Gb model

Following the previous recommendations I did procure a Pixel 4a for my wife from an EBay business seller but annoyingly, it seems to have a fault so will be returning it.

If anyone knows where I can find one of these handsets at reasonable cost (£250 ish) with at least a 12 month warranty, please shout!

But there was a dreadful bug in the last version of operating system on pixel 5. Phone would notify me of emails it had previously notified me of. This would happen every time a new email came in. Instead of phone beeping ones, it would beep for all the unread emails and would drive me fking nuts. I tried to change all sorts of settings to no avail.

Thankfully it has disappeared since last update which I've been using for a few days

This seriously put me off android but I guess I'll forget about it now that it's fixed.

it has started again. ping ping ping ping ping all the fking time. I have made no changes to anything. No idea why it has restarted

I've email notifications set to silent on my phone -- as 99% of emails are not dependent-to-the-very-minute.

So when I look at my phone I see the email notification, but it won't have interrupted me unnecessarily with unwanted beeps and pings etc

You could try similar, perhaps?

any idea how i can get whatsapp notifications on a locked screen? whatsapp says my software does not allow for this.

Apparently the WhatsApp/Duo video issues are now fixed which is good news. I might open this 6 Pro eventually then...!

Just a headsup for those with the Pixel 6 who got the Bose QC45 with the £50 Google Store promotional code instead of the 700's that the code expires at the end of the month.

Currently Google are offering a discount on the Pixel stand so ended up using the code on that which brought it down to £5 delivered, most the other items in the store (Nest etc..) can be bought significantly cheaper from other stores.

right since the last 2 updates my brightness control doesnt really work. i can no longer drag it if i tap at it towards the top it may go there but other than that it just opens the network and internet control panels

Not really sure what you mean, as far as I'm concerned mine works fine?

the screen brightness bar. if i pull down from the top i should be able to swipe it to change it that doesnt work. if i stab the line far to the right it will jump there and then i can slide it back but if i press anywhere except the far right it launches the network and internet settings page instead

Mines visible at the top with my second swipe down, first wipe down I get "Internet" "Bluetooth" and just under them "flashlight" "do not disturb", one more swipe down I get the brightness bar at the top.

yeah same as mine but when i try to swipe the bar to change he brightness it wont do it and if i press the bar it opens the networks connection page even though its not near it

Don't worry, you're not imagining it, my P6 does the same since the update. I thought I had fat finger syndrome and was just catching the internet button,but mine is the same as yours. Sometimes you can tap your finger on the line and it works, but more often than not it brings up the internet page. It's as if they've made the internet button too big or something.

so do i but adaptive on it really sucks very laggy and quite often never adjusts for me
