Half a year now into the 6 Pro imo I think this will be my last Pixel, being good Friday I didn't have to go into work so woke up naturally but for some reason this morning it capped out at 80% charge when I left the house at 11am even though I left it charging overnight (an alarm was set for 4pm) so it likely enabled adaptive charge then didn't last the whole day and was dead around dinner time.
Since the latest update I've lost the ability to have the 'now playing' feature unless I'm connected to WiFi which makes the feature pretty useless, before it worked fine using 4/5g when out and about so not sure why they disabled the feature.

That's odd. My 6 Pro is on the latest update but it'll still let me use Now Playing without WiFi. Do you have Data Saver switched on in Network settings? That's about the only thing I can think of that might cause that.
I don't charge my phone overnight. I throw it on charge when it needs it. So there's no charge routine, instead a random hour at any time of the day or night.
Hence my concern - could adaptive charge slow the charging too soon, and result in having to top up the charge more frequently than I do currently because the battery charging was slowed?
If, as you say, it's tied to an alarm it may not be an issue, but it's something which would be mighty inconvenient to discover after purchasing a phone.

I really like adaptive charge
Put it on overnight and even after a day of hammering it don't often need to top up before bedtime
As my most common reason to change phones is borked battery im happy to have the facility
Cheers
Is it generally better to charge it overnight, providing you're using adaptive charging, to preserve battery life (long term, not just the following day!).Put it on overnight and even after a day of hammering it don't often need to top up before bedtime

Only had my Pixel 6 since Dec last year and these last few days I'm finding the battery is draining rapidly. When I left just before 9am this morning it was on 86% and when I returned at 5pm it was on 24% despite not using it that much. Nothing stands out as hogging resources either.
I'm finding my 4a seems to chew through battery significantly faster than it did too. Spotify seems to be the main culprit in my case. I removed it and reinstalled but doesn't seem to have helped and it's already in Optimized mode. Definitely not the first time I've had trouble with the Spotify app.
I find sometimes when I've left the phone alone for a few hours doing nothing a hefty chunk of battery will have gone whereas other times the battery life seems pretty decent when left alone.
On a more positive note I tried a zoom challenge with a friend with an iphone 13 Pro Max that was bragging about it's capabilities at the weekend and the zoom on the Pro 6 was noticeably better and the magic eraser function is impressive for people that haven't seen work before.
Couldn't tell the time on the clocktower with the iphone but could on the Pixel.

Yep, I've double checked all the settings and mobile data isn't limited in anyway, I fear that I may have to factory reset to get it working.Do you have Data Saver switched on in Network settings? That's about the only thing I can think of that might cause that.

My Pixel 4 XL started getting really hot when doing basic things like Anroid Auto etc, it was starting to glitch - not great for a device that's only 2.5 years old. I've reluctantly opened the replacement new 6 Pro I received from Google (I meant to sell it but put it in a box and pretty much forgot about it). I've updated everything and moved stuff over but....it's still a pretty terrible device.
The main issue I had, namely WhatsApp and Duo video calls seems to be better than it was - I'm still not sure it's even yet as good as the 4 XL was. The fingerprint reader is still awful. But browsing this even on the much-vaunted 120Hz display, it was stuttery and laggy when doing something as basic as scrolling through Google News. This is exactly how bad it looks on-screen:
The OS itself is fine but how can Google's own apps perform so badly on their flagship phone?
