Looks exactly how it looks on my S21 Ultra as well. It's just crappy unoptimised software.
If you want genuinely stutter free experience, you're wasting your time with Android. It never has been and probably never will be 100% smooth. Better off with an iPhone 13 Pro / Max for that sort of experience, but then you're giving up other stuff.

Pixel 6A just announced, along with other items which are coming later in the year. Pixel 7/ 7Pro, Pixel tablet, Pixel watch, Pixel buds pro.
I wonder where phones will go from here. Surely they're at the point where anything else they add isn't really that beneficial. Phones do so much these days! Only thing that could really do with improving is battery tech! TyrannosauRoss Lex said:

Battery tech, Google needs to up its game with Wallets as well (which they are). I'm currently using a OnePlus 8 Pro but I'm increasingly getting disappointed with their implementation of android 12, no game changers just niggles that never used to happen with 11. Looking at their forums I'm not the only one.
I'm thinking of moving to a Pixel 6 pro, I'm assuming that as it's always come with android 12 that its quite stable? I could wait for the 7 but I suspect I wouldn't be able to get hold of one until next year.
Has anyone gone from a OP8/9 to Pixel and are happy with it?

Me!! My 8 Pro met an untimely end I'm thinking of moving to a Pixel 6 pro, I'm assuming that as it's always come with android 12 that its quite stable? I could wait for the 7 but I suspect I wouldn't be able to get hold of one until next year.

I really like the Pixel and have no regrets
It's arguably more stable and I've noticed contactless payments in particular are a lot less glitchy
It lacks the OnePlus remarkable fast charge although i was never sure what that facility ultimately did for battery longevity?? I charge this Pixel overnight using the optimised thing and even hammering it all day only occasionally need an evening top up before bed
Cheers

Inevitably you'll get more fist-waving replies than "I'm happy" replies, so for balance I'll say that I'm very happy with my Pixel 6 Pro. It's not perfect but the few niggles I do notice are not significant enough to matter to me.If you're the kind of person who notices, for example, occasional screen stuttering when scrolling media-rich web pages and gets frustrated by it then you might end up disappointed, but I think most people are perfectly happy.

The best I can say is that the 6 Pro is the least-worst option on the market now they've fixed some of the major issues with patches.

It'll still only charge at a max of 23W though.Edited by Funk on Wednesday 25th May 10:44

Since the latest update I've lost the ability to have the 'now playing' feature unless I'm connected to WiFi which makes the feature pretty useless, before it worked fine using 4/5g when out and about so not sure why they disabled the feature.
Now Playing uses a local database of popular songs - the actual song identification is done against this database rather than it querying the internet. The only thing I can think is that the DB is out of date and it wants to update it. You may be able to clear data or reinstall "Pixel Ambient Services" and get it back...https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....

Didn't realise it was that low! I only got a fast charger since getting my 6, just used the old style USB-A type chargers before.Edited by Funk on Wednesday 25th May 10:44
Bet that is real obvious if you were doing a 65w on a OnePlus8

Hah, I'm guessing that's at me..! Like I said, my criticism of it was because it was worse than the 4 XL on the same content which you shouldn't expect when 'upgrading' two generations of handset.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
