The 6P was £449 in 32GB and about £540 in 128GB at release. I don't think many people actually paid that though. I got my 32GB one for £379.
I've tried both the Pixel and XL, but neither seems to do anything I care about that my 6P doesn't already do.
Oh, and a 128GB Pixel XL retails at something like £800, doesn't it? So much more expensive than the 6P at release.
The battery life and build quality is much better on the pixel than the nexus devices.I've tried both the Pixel and XL, but neither seems to do anything I care about that my 6P doesn't already do.

Not used the XL long enough to compare battery life but with moderate use I'm getting a day-and-a-half our of my 6P.
Will concede the camera, though it's not THAT bad on the last generation of Nexus. Not like, for example, the Nexus 5 (which my wife still has).
My understanding is that there had been quite a few QC issues with the Pixels so far too? Particularly with displays and antennae/connectivity.

I bet technical support are getting many "who's on first base" calls every day.
"Hello, I have a problem with my Pixel?"
"Ok, what's the problem?"
"The pixels"
"You have more than one phone?"
"No just one Pixel"
"Ok so what's the problem?"
"Some of the pixels are dead?"
"Have you tried rebooting them, making sure they are fully charged....hey..wait, you said you only had one Pixel"

That is a consideration but Samsung seem to have dialed back the crap they install and actually have some neat features vanilla Android doesn't.
I think I could live with it, I'll see what the S8 offers. I'm not spending £820 on a jumped-up Nexus though.
Nah the GF has had all of the Samsungs and I still hate them.I think I could live with it, I'll see what the S8 offers. I'm not spending £820 on a jumped-up Nexus though.
I stopped buying Samsungs after the galaxy s4.
My other-half's Pixel is a much nicer device to hold and operate.
I'll see what the Pixel 2 is like too. It may even drop the price of the first one which would be good as it's the cost that's off putting. My Nexus 5 has served me well but is going a bit senile in it's old age. It's been a great phone and has been worth every penny which is why I'd like to stick with a vanilla Android phone

I nearly swapped it for a OnePlus 5 the other week mind you as I've had it 1.5 years and fancied a chane.
I looked at the OnePlus 5, but I was put off by the "only" 1080 screenI've looked at the OP5 but it's not enough of a leap over my 3T at the moment to justify the cost. If there's a 5T in 6 months' time (as the 3T was to the 3) I might look then but if you're looking to upgrade now definitely put the OP5 on your list again..!

I bought a 3T a few months back because my Nexus 6P starting getting the early shutdown issue and Google and Huawei are pointing fingers at each other rather than fixing the damn problem and I decided enough was enough.
Is that when the battery dies even though it's showing something like 27%? Yes, mine does that. Very annoying.Funk said:
Don't be; the screen is fantastic and you'll only see the difference with higher res if you're using it for VR stuff. Higher res screens just burn batteries harder - there's a reason even the S8 comes with the default res set to 2220x1080 and not 2960x1440. I'd wager most S8 users never even realise or alter it to to the higher res. I also got a full refund on my Nexus 5 a year after having it. Wondering if I can get Google to refund my 6P and then I put the extra £50 odd towards the most expensive OnePlus5.
Only thing putting me off is the mention of poor customer service, got to be honest, Google have been fantastic.
CPW are doing certain models for £100 off so no need to pay Google's own prices. There's also lots coming up on eBay and the prices are all over the place - plenty of people are asking more than the CPW prices but there are also much more sensibly priced handsets available.
Mine seems to have been an unwanted upgrade which is locked to EE. But, the seller had decent feedback, I'm on EE and the seller included the paperwork from the network for warranty purposes. It all looks legit at the moment. Charged, screen protector on and I'll be having a good play with it tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's all ok, but if it's not, I've got protection through Paypal.

Yes, mine did it around 30%. It's just been sent been from EE having been 'repaired' but apparently all they've done was a 'software update'. I'm not expecting it to be fixed. I'll keep it as an emergency spare or flog it on now I'm using the 3T as my daily phone.
Google customer service just sent me a new phone when mine started doing that. Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
