6P and 2XL were my favourite of the Nexus/Pixel range. Still look back and think why has nobody recreated the HTC One M8 that was prime phone, I had one and managed to convert it to be a "Google Play Edition" thanks to XDA Forums.

I used to change my phone every year and then every 2 years, I might change my Pixel 6 to a 9 later in the year but we will see, if it offers no significant upgrade I might just keep it until the OS updates stop.

When I went Nexus 6P to Pixel 2XL there was very little difference, as they were both on the same android OS release at the time.
The P2XL was 'better' in that the screen was larger, it felt more comfy in the hand due to being a fraction slimmer in width, and the battery in the N6P was fading so the P2XL was better in that regard.
So very little difference at the time of "upgrade". It was after 12-18 months of OS improvements that the P2XL distanced itself from the N6P.

When I went P2XL to P7Pro it didn't feel like a drastic improvement either. Better battery, felt slightly smoother in operation, OS improvements. Again, it's with time that the OS improvements and addition of software features that the newer phone distances itself.

We've been at peak smart phone with current technology for a good number of years now, IMHO.

My P7P is JUST a bit too big for me. Trying to use one-handed can be tricky if I'm trying to reach the bottom left of the screen with my thumb.

Recently I've found my pixel is often asking me to unlock to confirm contactless payments.
I wonder if this is part of an update, or perhaps changes on the bank / shop side of things.
Or possibly I have accidentally turned on a setting l.

My Google Wallet did this after a recent update for a public transport payment. There is a setting where you can allow some payments without unlock.

I always have it set to needing to be unlocked for payments, purely from a security perspective.

My 6 Pro updated and now turning certain things on/off, like Bluetooth, is no longer simple. What previously did the job, slide down and tap the tile, two steps, now takes me to a slide switch to toggle and then another tap to confirm that's done, and then slide back up, so five steps now, two of which are simply confirmations, cretins!

Yeah, I've just fallen back to using voice commands to turn Bluetooth on and off.

I think the presumption amongst the developers is that most people leave Bluetooth turned on and just switch connected devices throughout the day.

Has anyone experienced issue with their Google wallet where you cannot change the default payment card?

I had a weekend away in Germany the other week and changed my default payment card to my Revolut card as I have previously, worked like a dream, once back in the UK I tried to change it back to my First Direct DD card but all I get is a 'whirly' wheel.

Phone is a Pixel6, OS14 fully updated.

How did you discover that?

Couple of decent features potentially coming soon, first is the "find my" network which means the find my app will no longer show the last known location but will copy the apple version of this where the device will use signal from any near Android devices to ping a real time location.

second is it looks like the Google version of Dex is coming soon.

I'll be curious to see what this looks like. I plugged my oneplus pro 10 into a colleagues docking station at work last week to charge it, and was surprised to have it pop up on both monitors with working keyboard and mouse.
