6.4" for the standard vs 6.7" for the Pro doesn't seem like that much of a differentiation in size?
On the subject of Pixels does anyone know how to record calls? I've got a Pixel 5 and my other half a 4 but can't seem to find the setting on either following this guide

You can't in the UK, probably something to do with GDPR or such.On the subject of Pixels does anyone know how to record calls? I've got a Pixel 5 and my other half a 4 but can't seem to find the setting on either following this guide

Hence we don't have the call recording option on our phones in the settings.

There is no GDPR reason they shouldn't allow it.Hence we don't have the call recording option on our phones in the settings.
The whole android call recording thing is completely bizarre, they blocked it to all apps in android 9, then brought it back in android 10 but basically no one could use it, then they eventually updated thier phone app so it could use it.
I think they are getting push in all directions by different law makers in different countries. The claim was they were doing it to protect users, was never clear how, then even less clear why they brought it back for some countries. I think they are being pulled in a couple of different directions with some countries where call recording is fully illegal and some where it is effectively illegal without consent and it is law suits in these countries they are concerned about, but on the other side there are some where its completely legal and for them to deliberately disable it might not have been legal, because people have brought forward disability rights arguments, or competition issues (google voice has full support for recording).
The whole thing is a complete mess and UK seems to have fallen through the cracks where there is no reason we couldn't have a call recorder, but no one has lobbied google into giving it to us.
My Pixel 5 which I have had since 1st April randomly turned off today, 96% battery opened Google maps and off it went.
Wont turn on at all. on with support now, I'm away till Sunday. so not best pleased.
First question can we call you to discuss this.. call me on what. Can you try a different charger, yes I've tried 3.
I've got a work iPhone with me which I can install some apps on but not sure what I can install on it. Plus the iPhone doesn't seem to get much signal where we are.

Yep does nothing at all.
Google want to offer me a refurb device, after I've had this new one 3 months, I've said no. They then said we cant give you a new one as we no longer sell the Pixel 5, I replied so how come they are for sale on your web shop.

And this is where Google fail when trying to be a 'premium' phone manufacturer. I can't imagine you'd be given the same run-around by Apple or Samsung... Stick to your guns on it.
This is why I always keep my previous phone (set up, updated) in case I need to SIM-swap for some reason...

Google seems very hit and miss with their customer service.
Personally I'm of the opinion that they haven't got a Scooby how to make a decent phone. The amount of bugs, glitches and returns I had to endure during pixel ownership means I'm not likely to return to that fold anytime soon, which is a shame as I like their take on Android.
The pixel 5 I had was pure garbage I thought. The 2xl I had before was better but still not exactly great.
This Samsung has opened my eyes to what a reliable flagship phone should be like. Absolutely nothing goes wrong on it that the very occasional reboot (once every few weeks at most) doesn't sort out.

They're both too bloody big!I think my Pixel 5 is the ideal size for me. I'm not going to watch films on my phone - and even if I did, the extra half-inch or so won't make a difference. However, that extra half-inch makes a massive difference to pocketability and being able to use the phone one-handed.

I hate Samsungs version of Android though so would never get one, Heard rumours the 6 line will be made by Samsung.
I prefer the Pixel OS but it's not too bad I think once you've tamed the bloat, which granted I'd prefer not to do but it's a one time setup thing so not too bothered. In fact there are actually elements of the Samsung I prefer tbh. All things considered I'd call it a draw That's one reason why I don't go full in on ecosystems, I much prefer being platform agnostic as it gives you flexibility rather than being locked in.
I'd consider buying a cheap pixel 3/4 as a spare maybe until you get the result you need. At least one good thing with pixels is they depreciate like nobody's business so it should be mega cheap.

But every device manufacturer tries to tie you to their 'ecosystem'. Samsung want you using their fitness app with their fitness tracker for example. Same with Apple etc. Thing is, if you want features that all integrate and work together etc then ultimately you have to pin your colours to a particular mast and just go with it.I'd consider buying a cheap pixel 3/4 as a spare maybe until you get the result you need.
