Has anyone noticed keyboard oddness since the latest update? For chrome my keyboard seems to be floating as it has a border around it, but it's not floating because I can't move it. In WhatsApp I can't see what I'm typing because the keyboard appears full width and higher than it does in chrome, obscuring what I'm typing. Also the fonts in chrome seem to be smaller. Anyone else had this? Everything up to date etc

On mine with keyboard there is a 3 dot menu icon from there you can toggle floating on and off, I have no idea how you move it when floating
On my P7PRO the keyboards are fine.I never knew about the the floating keyboard thing. If you make it 'float' there is a grey bar below the space bar, touch that and you can drag the keyboard around. It's the same on WhatsApp as well.

I jumped Pixel 2XL to 7 Pro, so very similar jump in generations to yourself.
I've tried to run good phones for as long as is feasible, but now looking at trade in deals I'm wondering if it's best to trade up every second year or so and whether it might represent similar value to running the 2XL for 5 years.

Neither myself (6 pro) or my partner (6 a) received an emergency alert this afternoon though she did get one with her Samsung work phone, just wondered if anyone here didn't receive the alert?
We are both on the 3 network so it could be that rather than both having Pixel phones.
I didn't. On 3 too. They've said they've had issues. We are both on the 3 network so it could be that rather than both having Pixel phones.

Three have said they're looking into why customers didn't receive the alert, so you're not alone. We are both on the 3 network so it could be that rather than both having Pixel phones.
(I turned it off, and I'm on EE also, if we're going to get nuked I'd rather not know given Faslane is in my council area...) )
I turned mine off too, I'm not bothered about getting any alerts.
It also sounds like they didn't think through the 'process' most people would go through; phone starts making horrible noise so you pick it up and press 'OK' to stop the obnoxious noise - at which point the message about the alert also goes away before you've had a chance to read it.
Most people aren't going to stand there with the noise going off while they read about why it's going off in the first place.

I spotted the same problem. It also sounds like they didn't think through the 'process' most people would go through; phone starts making horrible noise so you pick it up and press 'OK' to stop the obnoxious noise - at which point the message about the alert also goes away before you've had a chance to read it.

When the nukes hit instead of duck and covering I will be searching through my phones menu trying to find how you view the emergency alert history
