Win 2000/XP - best place to buy.

Reckon it's about time to upgrade the OS. Got one of those DVD Maker things from Aldi yesterday (we have a lot of video to transfer) and it says it requires the above, I've held on with 98SE due to a couple of my printers not having drivers available.
Where would you all recommend to partake of this robbing purchase? (Yes, you've guessed it I hate Windoze .

If you buy the oem version, you will save a lot of dosh. The only criteria is that you have to buy a piece of non-peripheral hardware (such as a mouse) at the same time. Otherwise you will have to buy the full retail version.
The only other snag with the oem version is that once loaded and activated, it is then 'tied' to that particular motherboard and you wont be able to load it on another machine without explaining yourself to M$.
With the ful retail version, you can move it to another machine if you want to later, as long as it is only installed on one machine at a time.
XP Home oem = £63
XP Pro oem = £99

What I should also have said was make sure your machine is up to running XP.
I know that M$ say that the absolute minimum is a 233MHz PC (300MHz recommended) and 128MB of RAM.
Believe me, these requirements are nowhere near enough in the real world.
I would recommend a minimum 600MHz processor and 256Mb RAM - and even then XP wont exactly zip along.
