We never seem to get offered these deals. Maybe because it's all in my wife's name?

You have cancel for them to take you seriously, then you can start negotiating, assuming they want your business.

Our is in the wifes name and Im the only one who deals with them

This is a good thread!

Our very basic contract at £28/month was coming to an end, and going up to £45 (or £48.95, for some reason which I didn't understand).

I called the 0800 number and chose the 'I'm thinking of leaving' option and they came down to £25, then £20, then £18. Not much haggling required.
To get multiple reductions did you keep saying that you were still not happy?

These sound like some amazing deals people have secured. I bit their hand off when they offered M100 for £22.

Yes, exactly that. While having a list of other deals on screen in front of me. £18 was cheaper than I could get elsewhere so I went with it.

Nice one. I can't find anything useful under £30 round here.

My Dad's on the full package and payed £140something a month so I said about cancelling and getting a better deal the other day. I told him he needs to cancel and wait for a phone call. He popped round yesterday and I mentioned it again, cancel, wait for a phone call. Then I text him the phone number and again, cancel, wait for a phone call. He's called me up half an hour later and taken a deal for about £90 biggrin To be fair it's a nice saving but I can't help but feel it could have been better. Oh well, a deal is a deal and we can go through it all again in 18 months!

Seeing this thread reminded me to pull my socks up and sort out my deal with Virgin. Out of contract for 2 years and got lazy. Basic package, 100Mb BB, basic TV and landline £62.99. Madness. Only really need broadband as Freeview, netflix and Amazon is enough for us. Happy to disconnect the landline. Did the Whatsapp chat thing and they offered £48 then £43, told them to cancel (many times) as was happy to try out Sky. Call today saying they will do £24pm for the package I currently have, no increase for the entire 18 month contract (should get that in writing) and will be getting new V6 box as the current one drives me mad, so slow. That will do tbh as saves messing around as I work from home so continuity of broadband is important.

Currently on M200 broadband for £20.50 a month until June.

Got 2 Sims with them as well, totalling another £28 a month, so come June I'm going to have to play the renewal game. Frankly I don't care what or where my broadband is from as long as it's roughly the same price!

Dropped mine from £62 to £30. Best I could get was £48 until it was effectively cancelled.

Just been in to my local O2 shop to ask about different deals on offer. I got offered the M100 broadband only for £25pm but with a free "Volt" upgrade to the M200 as an existing O2 customer. He also offered me the ultimate package, which is every channel tv wise, 1 gig speed broadband, Netflix and an unlimited data O2 sim (usually £25pm). I'm very tempted by it as I'm currently paying £10.99pm for Netflix & £18pm for my O2 sim only which is on top of my £85pm Sky deal which has just ended.

Best get on to sky and see what they can offer!

I was on an 18 month or 250mb broadband, Full House with BT Sport and Call Weekend for £63, they put it up £4 at the end of March which doesn't seem much but they are giving me nothing extra.

Just wondered if it was worth phoning up and giving them a nice request to see if they'll knock something off it.

Phone them up, there was an option to automatically take of the rise, may be too late now though.

Fairly painlessly, ours will go up from 59 to 65. I'm sure with effort they'd match the current deal, but I'm happy with that for another 18 months.

Mine ends June currently on M350 for 36.99. Not had a renewal price yet but when I log into my account if offers me an upgrade to a 30 day rolling contact on M500 for £3.06 a month more. Anyone else done this?

Not sure if to just call and see if I can get M350 on a better price.

I decided to leave VM after many years & was sick & tired of the haggling every renewal time.
I kept turning down their latest offers & changed to Three 5G mobile broadband which works fine for me.
To be honest I am glad to see the back of VM.

I am having a BT install done which I know Virgin won't be able to come near to
BT is due a week Friday and I can give notice to VM from May 29th so will be highly interested to see what they can offer
The reality is though that if the BT thing works out ok its tara VM for a year or so

BT actually looks pretty good. BT500 with 6 months XBOX Ultimate for 40.99 (and I have an XBOX)

As always its frustrating to see the new customer offers like this

Just renewed £87 for maxit, movies channels and extra box with 200mb BB, was on £84, does this seem a good deal, seeing some of the posts I should of said I wanted to cancel.
